I think Ron Reagan is just destroying the GOP
He was on Larry King last night, and with Judy Woodruff today.

He's tearing Bush and the Republicans a new one.

First of all, he's eloquent with his evisceration.

"I couldn't be in a party of bigots...homophobes, racists..."

It seems to me that if the GOP takes him on, they run the risk of making themselves look like even more monumental assholes (is that possible? I think it is).

I think he's been more effective with his remarks than Gore.

I hope John Kerry offers him something to do with the campaign.

2. I agree. I don't think he will actively work for Kerry though.
I don't think he would be as effective if he openly campaigned for Kerry. It would look more partisan. Right now, he is simply comparing the republican party today to the republican party of his dad's day. Much more effective!

3. I don't think
the GOP really listens to him. He's not repuke and has never been. I don't think that the GOP would attack him, as they would if Mike Reagan (a lifelong repuke) were to say things like this.

7. I agree, but independents and moderates
and Republicans with misgivings like Log Cabins (there's that gay thing again, sorry) are paying attention.

Yes, the GOP can't touch him, and that's the best part. ;)

4. He's making it "okay" for Reagan Democrats
to vote for Kerry.

Ron comes across as very sincere, normal, frank and concerned.

He's an extremely good spokespersona and they can't shut him up because he's Saint Ronnie's son.

5. Ron Reagan Jr....is beautiful !
We were glued to the TV when he has been on with Larry and also with Judy and all the times he comes on. He is a good man. He speaks from his heart and for the good of all of us. What a contrast with the outfit that has all the power now. There are a lot of good people in this world, but seems like we have to put up with the trash so much of the time.

13. Nancy and Ron Jr. are both unhappy with Shrub
It has been interesting to watch the Reagans post-White House. I still remember Nancy coming out in the mid-90s to tell people she was pro-choice, ostensibly to help the Dole campaign. Now, Nancy has mentioned a few things about stem cell research (because of her hubby) and Rove's tactics: she hated the commercial that identified Reagan with Shrub.

Ron has been a little more aggressive verbally, and that has been interesting. The one person missing in all this is Patty Davis, but her views are well known. (or were).

I don't know how much of this is against Shrub specifically and how much of this is the California Republican syndrome. In CA, Republicans have to be of the Wilson/Ahnold stripe: fiscally conservative but socially liberal (or at least not neocon born-agains) to win high office. Tom McClintock could never have beaten Davis in a recall, but Ahnold could.

Seems like Nancy is a California Republican and her son, a moderate Dem.

15. Will even moderate GOP voters trust a former ballet dancer as VP?
That is the question....;)

It would be interesting to see RR Jr. on a ticket, though I would have much preferred JFK Jr. What a pity to lose him so young.

14. Somewhere I Think His Father May Be Laughing
I always got the impression that both the Reagans did not like the Bush family.

And Nancy is probably glad that Ron is doing what he's doing.
