Bush & PUBLIC appearances
I was trying to think...when was the last time Bush gave a public appearance, wherein anyone could attend? I can't remember a single speech he's made that hasn't been either to people giving him money or to a captive military audience. Well, I suppose there was then one on the WTC wreckage, but that's the only one that comes to mind.

Has any president ever avoided the public so carefully?

2. the WTC site was STRICTLY controlled
you could not get within blocks of the site at the time * made his visit. even volunteers (I know a few who worked there) had to go through checkpoints.

* has NEVER appeared in public.

3. He only visits the "pretend public"
and the soldiers.. I am always amazed at the nerve ..To snuggle himself in the bosom of the military with HIS record of "service".. Rush Limbaugh has "prepped" the soldiers well.. Most do not even know about his record..

but blatantly manipulated. Remember the duct tape covering the "Made in China" stickers. Remember the "rally" in Indianapolis where they asked some of the men to remove their suit coats and ties and put on work shirts to make the audience look more diverse. Then they colorized the faces of some of the audience to make it appear racially diverse as well. Even the troops are screened before events like the plastic turkey photo op to make sure they were all dittoheads. There have been reports of the troops being rehearsed ahead of time. Remember the "free speech zones" are always a long way from * and never on the intended route of travel so he doesn't have to even see the great unwashed public. Plus all of the official photos are managed - make it look like a halo above * head, or as the fifth face on Mt. Rushmore. And who could forget the carrier stunt, complete with codpiece.
