Republicans - the American Terrorist Party
Since the early 1970's there has not been a major domestic terror attack perpetrated by any group that could be considered having leftist ties of any kind. The discredited and pathetic criminals of the Black Panthers, the SLA, etc. were scorned and shut down - rightly so - by an entire nation that demanded peace.

For more than 30 years, the Republican party has nutured and encouraged its right wing followers (and they are all right wing followers) to engage in terrorism against Americans.

Timothy McVeigh. Republican sympathizer. Hated Clinton and Reno. Killed scores with his bombing.

Terry Nichols. Ditto.

Norm Olson. The Michigan Milita leader and Republican who threatened to kill thousands in a civil war to institute a right wing martial government.

George W. Bush. A Republican President who has brought more terror to the world than anyone else.

Paul Hill. A terrorist murderer who supports the GOP.

James Kopp. A terrorist murderer who supports the GOP.

Clayton Waagner. Terrorized abotion providers and threatened to murder hundreds of them.

And the list is much, much, MUCH longer.

The Republican Party is the party of American Terrorism. The evidence is clear and irrefutable. You're either with the Democratic Party, or you are with the terrorists.

11. Randall Terry headed up Operation Rescue
Never actually bombed one himself, but I've done clinic defense and had him and his minions tell me I was going to hell. "See you there," I replied.

17. But, but, but
Doesn't he and his supporters encourage, praise (and engage?) in bombing clinics and assassinating abortion doctors? I hear you when you say "he hasn't bombed one himself" but doesn't the mere fact that he supports and encourages that type of action make him guilty nonetheless?

He's a terrorist and a terrorist-enabler for sure.

But if you want the name of an actual clinic bomber, the name you want is ERIC ROBERT RUDOLPH. :)

6. Earth Liberation Front, certain anarchists at anti-globalization protests
Sorry, there still are some leftist terrorists.

Though I would say the recent death threats to theaters over the showing of Farenheit 9/11 are acts of conservative terrorism as well.

7. Anarchist is different from leftist
The ELF and the G8 kooks are anarchists. They hate Democrats and Republicans equally. I wouldn't call the ELF leftists, although the GOP would. No Democrat I ever heard of endorses their madness or has any contact with them. Plenty of Republicans have regular and friendly contact with their terrorist allies.

8. Hahahaha well Democrats aren't the only leftists.
But yes, anarchists are the extreme left. Even communists, in theory, propose a system that eventually gives way to anarchism (even if it's never happened and I don't think ever would).

Libertarians like to pose as anarchists somewhat, but their emphasis on ownership and property rights still results in a hierarchical society and that's what's right-wing about it - anarchists do not believe in property being enforced by a government.

What did the Republicans call it when Clinton tried to attack the terrorists?

18. Plus this is a stupid argument.
The accumulation of knowledge about the attacks was greatest when Bush* was in office. It's not a matter of having enough time, it's a matter of knowing enough about it to do something about it. And it's not the President himself that even does all this intelligence, it's the FBI and CIA, and the same terrorism expert that was under both Bush* and Clinton found himself frustrated in trying to get something done. Plus the Hart-Rudman commission started under Clinton, released it's report to Bush*, and was ignored.

So yeah, this fake-ass 8 years vs. 8 months thing is simple enough for someone who doesn't know anything about terrorism to understand, but once you know the details about it, it becomes pretty obvious that Bush* sat on a lot of things that could have been done about terrorism.

A bunch of articles from the period about Clinton's war on terrorism:

14. Anarchists are not to the left or the right.
Anarchy:

1 a : absence of government b : a state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority. c : a Utopian society of individuals who enjoy complete freedom without government

2 a : absence or denial of any authority or established order b : absence of order

Left and right are vague political concepts, to show a socio-political ideology one adheres to. By it's very definition, left and right are not applicable to an anarchist, as they are their own law. The closest thing that comes to a "wing" in anarchy, would probably be "ultra-conservative", or libertarian. What is one of the ideologies of the conservatives? "Less or no government control in ones life." See "C" above. Looks like a libertarians dream world...

16. Bah I've already adressed that.

They do, however, believe in government-enforced property rights, whereas anarchists don't. And property rights sets up a hierarchy based on wealth. It may not be a directly government-controlled one, but it's one nonetheless.

19. That's beside the point.
Edited on Sat Jun-19-04 02:34 PM by tjwash
The point is, that Anarchists are not leftist in nature. A true Anarchist considers themselves beyond any type of an ideology that "left" or "right" would label them with. They embrace the complete absence of laws, and political affiliation. "Left", "Right", and "Center", are associated with modern day political structure, to try and describe where ideologically an individual stands. Any real Anarchist would soundly reject even the idea, of affiliating themselves to that.

As one goes further left, one injects more laws and government into society, not take society more toward Anarchy.

20. Ha did you even read my first post?
Even communists are in theory anarchists.

When, in the course of development, class distinctions have disappeared, and all production has been concentrated in the hands of a vast association of the whole nation, the public power will lose its political character. Political power, properly so called, is merely the organized power of one class for oppressing another. If the proletariat during its contest with the bourgeoisie is compelled, by the force of circumstances, to organize itself as a class, if, by means of a revolution, it makes itself the ruling class, and, as such, sweeps away by force the old conditions of production, then it will, along with these conditions, have swept away the conditions for the existence of class antagonisms and of classes generally, and will thereby have abolished its own supremacy as a class.
- Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, The Communist Manifesto, Section II ("Proletarians and Communists")

You also see people that are almost-anarchists calling themselves "left-libertarians", and they'll tell you they differ from right-libertarians over the issue of property ownership, and claiming affinity with anarchists.

22. "Democrats aren't the only leftists"
Edited on Sat Jun-19-04 03:51 PM by fujiyama
What the hell does that mean?

I don't consider myself a leftist, and am a democrat. Most democrats are NOT leftists. Some are, and that's just fine. Democrats are left of center, centrist, and in some cases right of center. The democratic party is trully in every sense a big tent.

Most anarchists and communists are NOT democrats...Sure, in an election like this, even they might vote for Kerry (because the situation is so bad), but that doesn't mean they have any use for Kerry and his politics...

Leftist meaning, someone on the left. From liberal all the way to anarchist.

And yes, most anarchists and communists are not Democrats.
