What is our policy in the Middle-East?
Edited on Fri Jun-18-04 10:04 PM by louis c
Is it to punish Muslims as a group, for members of their faith's attacks and atrocities against us? Or is it to win their hearts and minds to have them develope a western attitude? If it's the later, how is it that even our supposed allies cannot be associated with America without alienating huge majorities of their populace. Not only Saudi Arabia, but Egypt, Jordan, and our puppet government in Iraq must have an anti-American face to be accepted at home. If the answer is the former, why the hell are we spending hundreds of billions of tax-payers dollars to convince them we're their friends? And please don't just say oil, because in order to obtain oil, all we have to do is buy it.

1. it's "what's the worst possible choice possible?"
i honestly think that that might be the real decision making part of our Mid East policy.

2. Bush*'s Policy is Out of the Book of Revelations
He wants us to fight the Crusades again
and to do that he is stirring up as much hatred as possible on both sides,
so that even if he somehow gets thrown out of office,
his successors will have a very hard time making peace there.

He is part of the left-behind-end-times cult.

What else explains what has been going on at Abu "Redemption"?

3. Policy?
We're supposed to have a policy? I thought GWB just followed the "us or them" plan. Middle Easterners aren't "us" so they must be "them." I'm not sure which category he puts the House of Saud into.

4. "Our Policy?" Not in my name
Our policy is to make peace happen.

The policy of this regime is, sad to say, oil. If Iraq, et al, didn't have oil, we wouldn't pay them no nevermind. They have it, we need it, they will use our need for oil against us just as soon as they can figure out how. Saudi Arabia has done just that- at $40 a barrel. How long before it hits $100?

All the rest of the carrying on that the US is up to in the Middle East is based on the power of the Israeli factions in the US gov. For some reason, this faction has control over a large part of our foreign affairs.

This is the real question for which we need answers. Why is it that we favor so heavily one small group of people over the majority of those who live in the Middle East?
