Taking Bets on Who will jump first on Blackout....Dems or Bushies?
Actually don't know how legal that would be. But the fact remains: either Democrats will take the initiative to criticize deregulation of energy, or Bush will use the blackout as an excuse to drill holes through Alaska to get energy for Muricans.

Which will it be?

1. Bushies
Of all the things the Bushies can be accused (and hopefully, one day, convicted) of, lack of initiative is not one of them.

2. Hillary, Bill Richardson and Gray Davis
were laying blame at the doorstep of Enron and the administration last night on Larry King.

4. Yep....
It was a Dem heavy show (for a change). Our folks were kicking ass. Hillary attacked the chimp..big time. Gray was well informed as always. Bill, of course, was an expert.

5. Hillary made a good case..
Basically said the grid hadn't been upgraded because Bush only cares about supply and not the infrastructure. Basically said Bush didn't want to make his political cronies spend money on infrastructure. Said the same thing about the Repub. House that has had a bill for 5 years that would have upgraded the infastructure.

I can tell you all about the ne're-do-wells that put out our lights tonight. I came up against these characters -- the Niagara Mohawk Power Company -- some years back. You see, before I was a journalist, I worked for a living, as an investigator of corporate racketeers. In the 1980s, "NiMo" built a nuclear plant, Nine Mile Point, a brutally costly piece of hot junk for which NiMo and its partner companies charged billions to New York State's electricity ratepayers.
