NYC Going SLOOOOOOOW on Protest Permits
If they don't watch out, they're going to have a Chicago '68 rerun on their hands, the idiots!

City not ready for GOP confab, critic says

BY DARYL KHAN
Staff Writer

Patrick Mahoney, head of the Christian Defense Coalition, came to the city Wednesday morning to talk to police about a prayer gathering at Madison Square Garden right before the start of the Republican National Convention.

Mahoney said he was left frustrated by the city's lack of organization and suspicious of its intentions regarding protesters and demonstrators from across the political and ideological spectrum.

"They said they have no idea when I can demonstrate, no idea where I can demonstrate, and no idea when they'll know," he said. "The city is crushing the First Amendment."

Mahoney's complaint echoes that made by United for Peace and Justice and other anti-war, anti-Bush protesters in recent months as they too have been waiting to see how the permit process unfolds.

1. You don't need a protest permit.
"Congress shall make no law...abriging ... the right of the people peaceably to assemble."

2. That is Exactly What They Want!
They want to push the opposition into rioting.
Then they can ship all dissidents off to Gitmo as "terrorists"
and call off the elections.
