1. If Bush weren't his opponent, this would be easy.
Since Bush IS his opponent, I can't come up with one. Hell, I'd vote for John McCain over Bush.

14. Same here.
Truth be told, Kerry was just about at the bottom of the original Democrat candidates for me, but it's so easy to vote ABB that I'd even vote Zell Miller over Bush.

16. If it weren't shrub.....
It would be somebody else, and you'd be attacked for not supporting the dem. candidate.

Will, you're going to excoriate me, and that's fine. I'm going to vote for Kerry, but this is why I don't want to.

Iraq vote
Patriot act vote

And I know the talking points for those two votes, so don't freaking lecture me.

Goddamn bootlicking politicos. They'll do anything to assure their own political viability.

can be a dirty business in this corporate-owned country. It's also the only thing standing between us and the devil.

... assuring their political viability as much as I mind them just being plain wrong (McCain for VP?) and having no guts.

38. I don't hate Kerry...
... and I don't need an excuse to. If indeed his campaign floated that ridiculous idea, I have no respect for him. He is DAMAGING our party by sending the message that we need Pukes to help us govern.

It really doesn't matter much to me if you like it or not.

Edited on Mon Jun-14-04 05:34 PM by emulatorloo
never serious, but a way for Kerry and McCain to screw w Karl Rove's mind, and a way for Kerry to show independents that he is not a bitter nasty partisan like GWB. . .and all these things for free, because McCain was NEVER gonna be the VP. . .why would that be a bad thing?

Kerry is playing chess w GWB, not checkers. . .I don't think that is gonna damage our party. Cheers. . . .

PS 'reasons to hate kerry' I thought was the thread topic?

Edit clarify

46. that is simply postulation.
There is no saying that a more principaled person wouldn't have been able to win against bush.

I am irritated by politicians who abandon their principals.

Jesus, I hope Kerry picks a firebrand for a veep. Doesn't look good, though.

I never thought I'd say this, but GO WES CLARK!

4. well, you are in Massachusetts, right...
so really you can safely vote for someone else. To send a message to Kerry you could vote for a more progressive candidate (though I do not think Ralph Nader fits that bill anymore).

Who are you thinking of going with?

12. If Will Pitt wants to "send a message" he's quite capable of doing so.
He does this "writing" thing. And I believe this thread is based on a rhetorical question--with a sarcastic nod to another thread.

42. I see posts like these as politically naiive
Edited on Mon Jun-14-04 05:41 PM by molly
there is no perfect ANYTHING. If there were, I would have the perfect job - long since gone overseas even tho I worked my butt off for over 20 years (and I was GOOD - even AMAZING!). I would have the perfect marriage - I got married in 2001 after being divorced for 18 years. I would have the perfect everything. Nothing is perfect - try as we might.

I wonder at your age and/or your life experiences. There are many young people here without years of experience that have somehow gained political wisdom. Take at look at the guys that started this site. I respect and admire them even tho they are years my junior. Look at WillPitt - he could be my son - and sometimes I wish he were. Age is just a number in many instances.

You need to grow beyond "labels".

So he probably doesn't.
I'm also pretty sure he was only borned once.
If you ain't borned again...well...you won't get MY vote.
Twice borned is the only way to go.
Maybe even thrice borned.
That's the way I see it.

48. OK - Here's a short list....
He voted for the war

He is not progressive

He reminds me of Count Chocula (and I'm a fruit bruit/yummy mummy man)

I don't understand how he differs from moderate republicans on most issues.

He does not represent the people, he's an aristocrat.

He appears to use minorities for their vote only.

He has a crappy pro-US plan for Iraq

He voted for the patriot act
---------------------------

Note: He still has my vote; does that make me a bad person?
