Jay Leno compares Bush, Saddam
"According to the "New York Times”, last year white house lawyers concluded that President Bush could legally order interrogators to torture and even kill people in the interest of national security - so if that's legal, what the hell are we charging Saddam Hussein with?"

When the late night comedians start making this point, you know Bush is in serious doo-doo.

5. Leno is not so much "mainstream", he just toadies up to power. He's
not a total idiot and can smell the flop sweat coming off of shrub so he's trying to "hedge his bets" a little.

9. Part of being "mainstream"
is toadying up to power, isn't it? At least in my mind. That's how you can tell an artist from a hack.

10. Kind of sad. I remember when I was in college, Leno used to be pretty
funny as a regular comic in his pre Tonight show days. It's like he made a conscious decision to forgo any edgy humor as soon as he became host and it ruined him. Because he still has some talent (unlike Dennis Miller) he is still able to be a little funny sometimes.

It was interesting to see how Leno toadied up to Ahnuld and let him use his show as a platform to announce his Gov candidacy and celebrate the victory, but never came out and officially endorsed him. I remember Howard Stern was pissed about it because he had actually endorsed Ahnuld (uggghh) but Ahnuld didn't show Howard much love after getting in office but was all over Leno's show. I guess Ahnuld just respects the power of TV.

6. compared him to Hitler, too
I bet Jay got a call from the White House after this one...

http://www.agweb.com/news_show_news_article.asp?

Jay Leno: "Attorney General John Ashcroft told Congress they shouldn't be asking him about the legality of what we're doing in Iraq until the war is over. Isn't that amazing? He said, 'You shouldn't question what we're doing until the war is over.' And there's precedent for that. I think it was called the Nuremberg Trials."

11. Aaaaah, Leno feels the direction of
the political winds, eh? He should have started asking these fucking questions 3 1/2 years ago! Instead, he kissed Ahhhhhhnold's ass and was a cheerleader for the chimp and his war. I hate Leno.
