Rummy:"3d ID home by Sept." Just in time for the Repube convention?
This thought just hit me while responding to a LBN thread.

Would the Repubes stoop so low as to have the 3d ID (my former div.) shipped in and march down say 5th Ave. and into the Convention Hall. We already know that the reason they picked NYC and the timing is more campaign fluff like W's Capricorn One moment landing on the USS Lincoln.

I wouldn't be shocked, you heard it here first.

Boston Globe story here

WASHINGTON -- The soldiers of the Third Infantry Division, some of whom have been deployed in the Persian Gulf region since the middle of last year, will return from Iraq and Kuwait by the end of September, Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld told a congressional panel yesterday.

3. Of course they would.
If they are willing to make a photo op out of laying a cornerstone at the WTC (absolutely repugnant), this is nothing.

I'm interested in what's gonna happen when our men and women do start returning; how is the regime gonna keep them from talking to the media? I was quite young, but I remember that's what really ended Vietnam. The troops are scared sugarless and massively po'ed already.

No more death--Bring 'em home.

5. Our boys will come home when mamaism screams her bloody head at
Congress long and loud.

Like Korea, the Mamas of America will bring our troops home be proacting with Congress.

The waste of lives and energy/resources is beyond comprehension. Now its up $4 billion per month with no let up in sight. Our troops dying almost daily is brought home all too efficiently via TV and print media is not doing the shrubs plan any good.

Shrub is a destroyer, not a builder. The CLAP Never were builders unless its their fortune.

6. But somehow, Shrub will take the credit.
And his lapdogs in the press will let him get away with it.

Still, I'm a momma, anybody up for getting uppity?

4. Whatever they do, it will likely make Nixon's '72 convention
Edited on Thu Jul-10-03 08:35 AM by cosmicdot
look like a junior high school mock convention ('72's was dripping with orchestration - Hitler-esque youth choir singing and all - you know, 'Nixon, now, more than ever' and Sammy Davis hugging Nixon at one of the entertainment productions - funny, Sammy seemed to disappear once Watergate thickened)

{{perhaps a thread on 'if you were helping plan the Dem Convention, what would you suggest - theme, ideas, etc. - personally, I thought the 2000 convention was a bit boring, 'cept Al's acceptance speech which was awesome - the personal confessions were real for others to relate, but zzzzzzzzz - I think I'd consider a 1776 underlying theme or flashbacks to earlier bad times under Republicans, and Democratic legislation which helped to remedy and recover - and, get some of the flash experts to produce some of the short subjects -- take down the corporations: where's Ken Lay -- Hi, my name is the Carlyle Group - this is how we profitted while since George was appointed -- brainstorm!}}
