Here is a fair poll from the TX GOP website!
http://www.txgop.org/pollResults.php?q_id=5

To sum it all up the Goopers have sadistic fantasies of spankings, children and prisons.

8. Ugh...
I'm from TX and I am SO sick of people bashing the state and telling us how much we suck. Just shut it. The corruption and venality here exist everywhere, it's just more obvious here. And the political apathy here allows a lot of awful stuff to go down. I hate a lot of stuff about TX, but I see ripping on TX as a way for people to lazily feel better about themselves and not do anything about what is actually going on around them personally. It totally reminds me of people thinking that racism ends at the Mason Dixon Line so they are automatically free thinking just by being born somewhere random. People now think that they are politically pure just because they aren't from Texas. And don't tell me to grow a thicker skin just because "this is DU". How about because this is DU, people just think a little more before they post.

3. Texas, I swear....
I swear, there are 49 good states and then there is Texas! I know there are some good Democrats in Texas (like Ann Richards... of course she left though, lol), but is anybody else here in favor of letting Texas kind of establish their own nation? OK OK so I'm being a little extreme... but the Democrats of Texas need to stand tall and try to fix that corrupt state. And by the way, I know my state isn't perfect, lol, but Texas is just frighteningly conservative.

4. Well, you've got a great bunch of Dems fighting their hearts
out! May God guide them on their cause and they should know that the rest of Democratic America is behind them 100%!

5. We're not all Tom DeLay
The national treasures Shiela Jackson Lee and Lloyd Doggett are from here. Basically, congresspeople from cities are cool, ones from rural/suburban areas are not, but most of the states are like that.

Also, and I was wondering if anybody else kinda noticed this: Remember in the spring when the big walkout first happenned? It seemed like it kinda gave some mushy Dems on the national level a little bit of motivation to raise hell.

6. If you don't like Texas..
then you might not want to read Michael Lind's book Made in Texas. It shows how much the conservative culture and economics of Texas are very influential on the nation as a whole.
