I have no doubt Tenet is guilty, but I think he's being set up as the fall guy when a lot more people are involved. I hope Kerry sets the record straight about what's going on. Kerry could win a landslide against the pathetic and disgraced Bush by not saying a word, but America needs him for leadership right now.

In any case, Gore called for resignations - even though he said Tenet was a friend, he needed to resign too - so how many more on Gore's list? Time for the resignations and prosecutions to start, and for America to regain our dignity.

He left with a shred of grace, I think. And yet, he sure seems like the patsy in this situation, always has. I'm not surprised.

Not like I'm sure, or anything, but I think he fucked them. He'd had enough, saw that he was in for more, and realized that by protecting his massa, he had painted himself into a corner.

Following this line of reasoning, he may have sandbagged Junior to make it look like he was fired, thus scaring the rest of the intelligence community to come forward. Proof of all sorts of ugliness done by this administration is out there; if careerists think Tenet was cashiered, they'll all feel in jeopardy. It may well have been a very clever withdrawal at a critical juncture.

Junior didn't seem the least bit ready for this. For me, it just doesn't pass the sniff test.

Then again, maybe the junta really feels they can get away with everything.

Instincts and feelings aside, don't you think it's argueable either way? What doesn't gel for me is the "oh-so-clever Rovian planning" and deft execution; Junior did NOT look prepped for this one.

that's what I don't like about the pushed theory. Bush's whole persona is never saying he did anything wrong so what would he blame on Tenet?

So it hardly looks like a deft move by Fearless Leader if that's what really happened. What keeps coming back to me is how absolutely terrible Junior was when announcing it; surely he'd have been better prepped than that if it was planned.

Tenent has already fallen on his sword for bush* a couple of times

he fell on his sword regarding the "Niger yellow-cake", and later about WMDs -- in the meantime with every new bit of information emerging about disinformation, bush* has stated he will get to the bottom of it but nothing has happened

people were beginning to suspect that no one would be held accountable, and that it was abundantly clear that bush* would not take any responsibility -- bush* inc. needed someone to take the fall, Tenent was selected

I think it's time to pull together a list of things bush* claims he "didn't know" or claims he was "mislead"....

I think he wanted out before the Plame indictments are handed down.

Tenet and the CIA have been the fall guys for these clowns since 9/11. My guess is that he's had enough.

He'll go gracefully, he won't trash Bush in public (much to my disappointment)
