My bumper stickers got some dipshit seriously pissed off tonight!
First of all, here are the bumper stickers in question:

On my way home from work a little while ago, I was stopped at a red light when some guy (who bore an uncanny resemblance to DU's Bob Boudelang) pulled up behind me in (you guessed it!) a pick-up truck. In my rearview mirror, I could see the guy mouthing what my bumper stickers said, after which his face grew quite angry-looking. Still looking in the mirror, I could lip-read him saying, "What the fuck is that shit," among other things. Livid, he pounded on his steering wheel and shouted at nobody in particular.

I don't mind telling you, I became nervous. That yahoo was so pissed off, I feared he would get out of his pick-up truck and run up to the driver's side of my car to do Christ-knows-what. Thankfully, that didn't happen. When the light turned green, I made a right turn and he went left (ironically).

This was the first time that my bumper stickers had provoked such a severely negative reaction. (Remember, I live in the comparatively liberal Connecticut). I just hope that moron's not indicative of how folks will vote in November!

5. Me too...
I think I will order one of those bumper stickers for myself as mine don't seem to be doing the trick.

2. My home-made bumper sticker
Edited on Thu Jun-03-04 07:32 PM by NV Whino
Based on the "official' Bush/Cheney sticker says DELETE BUSH CHENEY O4. I get a gentle beep on the horn and thumbs up all the time.

Of course, this is California.

Hang in there.

6. Heh!
Just come down here with me in TX and ride around in my anti-Chucklenuts bumper-stickered minivan. Only ONCE have we ever had a negative response and it was when my husband was driving it. I wasn't there. There are also Purple Heart license plates (husband was in Desert Storm). The guy next to him at a red light told him his anti-bush stickers were "unpatriotic". Husband asked guy to define "patriotic". Guy says "supporting your president". Husband asks him, "So how 'patriotic' were you when Clinton was in office?" Guy works his jaw sounlessly for a second, light turns green and my husband yells, "THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT!"

BOO-YA!

I drive a pickup. My signs read "Bush Lied, People Died, Media Cheered", "Proud patriotic anti-Bush American because I love my country" and "One Nation Under Surveillance"

8. I left an encouraging note under someone's
windshield wiper a couple of weeks ago.

See, I was having a crappy day and I came out of my office building to go home and someone had a "Let's not re-elect him again!" bumpersticker with a slashmark over W, on their car. It cheered me up to see that, so I dashed off a note of "Hey, you made my day!" to the person and left it under their windshield wiper.

I figure we need all the good feedback we can get since the freepers will leave nasty notes, if not vandalize your car, here in NC.

13. Well, he belonged on it when I created the sticker.
Then he had to go and change into a Bush-basher. Now I've gotta pay another $5.00 for a new sticker that removes Stern's name and replaces it with, say, Bob Novak's.

DAMN YOU, HOWARD STERN! :P

10. Just the fact that he could even read is an accomplishment
I live in an ungodly Rethug dominated area. I have caught scum keying my car (had to pay to fix it, got 60 days community service, and give me $5000 plus lawyers fees for 'mental anguish', and made the front page as having "assaulted" my car in the local paper) been threatened, flattened a little scumbag who grabbed me while he told me I was a traitor, and have had jerk offs try to run me off the road.

This is what we deal with.

All over a DU bumper sticker.

I love every second of it.

I look forward to more incidents, maybe I'll get paid again.

Don't worry, where I live, carrying guns is a no no, so these thugs have to resort to other ways to persuade me, LOL.

and even the liberals are armed to the teeth, so no worries!

I'm too much of a coward, afraid of the wingnut gun-nuts here in SC. So despite my collection of bumper stickers, my car remains unadorned.

11. I admit I'm a wimp. I have no bumper stickers of any kind.
I live in a liberal town in a red state. There are a lot of warring bumper stickers around here. I figure that people yell at each other a lot.

14. Let me get this straight
You put inflamatory bumper stickers on your car, and then when they actually work on someone, you whine about it on an internet discussion board?

Of course he was an idiot, who else would even care what your stupid bumper stickers say?

18. I probably live in more conservative territory ...
and my stickers are way more tame than yours. I have the official Kerry for President sticker and the "I don't have to like Bush to love America."

I've noticed an increase in people riding my bumper. From my experience, pickup trucks tend to be the worst.

I understand about you getting a little afraid for your life. Some of the wacko conservative types are walking time bombs and need to be on medication.

21. At least you can ride around in CT with those bumper stickers..
try riding around in Norfolk/Virginia Beach - you won't have a car left to ride around in. Just kidding, but there are more yahoos per square mile here than you can believe. I do see the occasional Kerry sticker, which brightens my day, but this is a verrrry red area.
