"Five Quick Reasons Why Tenet's Resignation will HELP President Bush and the GOP
6-03-04 | jmstein7

Posted on 06/03/2004 7:54:40 AM PDT by jmstein7

This is a good development for the following reasons:

1) It will distract from the prison scandal -- which the public will begin to forget about.

2) It will be seen as a sign that the president is holding people accountable for perceived intelligence failures.

3) Tenet likes Bush personally (far, far better than he liked Clinton) and is more likely to write a Clinton-bashing book that a Bush-bashing book.

4) Confirmation hearings are a great way for the GOP to showcase Democrat obstructionism and shrillness -- which will not play well with the public.

5) Confirmation hearings will distract from the 'Rat Convention and draw public attention, reducing any "bounce" Kerry would normally get -- because coverage of the convention will be reduced by coverage of hearings.

All and all, this is VERY good news.

Feel free to weigh-in here with your opinion."

Hoping people will forget the way they've disgraced our nation and enraged the world. Keep wishing Freepers!

Apparently denial overy there isn't a river in Egypt-its a trench that's a mile wide and 10-feet deep.

And its filled with a lot of mud.

Seems to me that they're trying to spin heading off to the chopping block as a good thing.

# 3 might really be interesting if he really didn't get along with Bush.

13. Giuliani is an utterly disgusting man. I've lived in NY
during his reign and I know what I'm talking about. However, the Dems will be too star-struck and scared to call him on his transgressions and failures. If he's in consideration, I'm afraid, he'll get thru the confirmation easy.

homeless people out on the streets and into jail and sweep crime into the ghettoes away from the rich white folk.

11. ...struck with delusions...poor freepers
distract from prison scandal? Not as long a Rumsfeld (the head torturer) is in office. And remember: Terrorist recruiters will not forget about that...they are just waiting for pay-back.

Bush is holding people accountable? Holding someone accountable for failures means that you FIRE their a**es. Tenet RESIGNED for personal reasons. Bush doesn't even have the guts to fire the most incompetent people in his administration.

Tenet likes Bush? Says WHO???

Democrat obstructionism...LAUGHABLE! Get the facts straight.

Confirmation will distract from the Democratic Convention? Wishful thinking. Not going to happen. This is way bigger and more important than some position in Bush's administration being filled.

In all, most freeper suffer from delusions.

20. "Confirmation Hearings"? There won't be any until 2005.
Edited on Thu Jun-03-04 10:53 AM by TahitiNut
If the Busholini Regime wants other than an "acting director" they'll make a recess appointment. There's no way in hell they'll go through any confirmation hearings. None. Zip.

Those people are truly delusional.

21. Boy, are they dumb. There will be no confirmation hearings at that time.
The deputy director takes over until a new head of CIA is appointed, and that will take much longer than they realize. The CIA isn't exactly HAPPY to cooperate with BushInc and I doubt they will accomodate his attempts at political manipulations.

24. Feeling free to weigh in...
Well, the freeper said to weigh in, so here's my screw you response!

1) It will distract from the prison scandal -- which the public will begin to forget about.
Don’t you wish! No, it won’t. You’re just replacing a gun to the head with a knife (in the back). We’ll just add it to the list.

2) It will be seen as a sign that the president is holding people accountable for perceived intelligence failures.
Huh? You mean finally? Perceived? Tenet resigned. He was not fired. This is holding people accountable:“I told him I was sorry he’s leaving” – (Bush today)?

3) Tenet likes Bush personally (far, far better than he liked Clinton) and is more likely to write a Clinton-bashing book that a Bush-bashing book.
Lemme see….in recent months which books about Bush have been best seller’s, and which books were not? Think a publisher wants to do a Bash-Clinton when Bash-Bush is so much more profitable? If Tenet does write a book, I look forward to reading it. Too bad I’ll have to wait until AFTER the flippin’ election to do it. Oh, and the Kerry administration is going to have to vet it just like the Bush admin had to do with Clarke’s. Now how do you feel? Idiot.

4) Confirmation hearings are a great way for the GOP to showcase Democrat obstructionism and shrillness -- which will not play well with the public.
Are you kidding? Not play well with a public that devours "Survivor" and "The bachelorette"? With the Chief Justice wearing his dress-up robes? Talk about blood lust. And not only confirmation hearings showcase "obstructionism and shrillness"…so do impeachment hearings! Just ask Oliver North, Adm. Poindexter, Liddy, Colson what it was like in front of committees. There will be no hearing because Bush will not nominate anyone for the position before the election because he is terrified of what may come out. For that same reason, he will not fire Rummy.

5) Confirmation hearings will distract from the 'Rat Convention and draw public attention, reducing any "bounce" Kerry would normally get -- because coverage of the convention will be reduced by coverage of hearings.
Sure of that? Wanna’ play “Bet the White House (and Senate)” on something like that? Ever think that most of the members on those committees might also be at those “Rat” conventions themselves (it's an election year for them too, jackass!) and not able to hold hearings until.…oh.…say..October!! Hey!! We always said Bush might pull an “October Surprise”. Think this is what he had in mind?

All and all, this is VERY good news.
You bet it is. But not for you.

Feel free to weigh-in here with your opinion.
At least I have one.

...grind all over the GOP. That will be worth watching. And you KNOW it's coming. Hopefully about a month before the election...
