Looks like gin Blossoms to me.
Take a look at this picture. He sure looks like a heavy drinker. Looks like his face is a mass of broken capillaries. (gin blossoms)

1. I've always thought that he had gin blossoms.
I don't know if they go away over time, though.

6. no, they're permanent
He has one across his nose and a real beaut under his left cheekbone. They're usually airbrushed out in the US press, but quite clear in pictures overseas. The only time they're slightly visible here is when he's sweating all the greasepaint off under bright lights during his extremely rare appearances on TV.

8. Oh, okay. Thanks.
I think he's still a drunk, though. I don't know if he's
dry or not, but I guess it really doesn't matter. He's still
got the "stinkin' thinkin'" problem.

2. Nah. Much as I'd like to, he don't look that bad for
a serious boozer of his age.

4. abrasion from that bike fall?
Looks like the scab's fallen off -- or rather, the BIG scab, the one with the smirk, is still attached to it.

10. Yeah...the Gin Blossoms
Lost Horizons - by the Gin Blossoms

Drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves
Turn summer trees to bones and ice
Turn insect songs against the night
With words we build and words we break
I'm drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves
Maybe I could use you to reassure myself
I wouldn't wish this indecision on anybody else
Drink enough of anything to make this world look new again
And when the sin smiles how could it be wrong
The last horizons I could see are now resigned to memories
I never thought I'd still be here today
Drink enough of anything to make myself look new again
Drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves

11. So!! Is that what "Gin Blossom" means?
I've always wondered... so, does "Gin Blossom" refer to the wound/scar one suffers after a drunken, falling-down-or-what-not incident?

Fascinating... and... from which region does this phrase originate?

12. No, it has to do with the metabolization of alcohol.
It bursts the blood vessels right under the skin,
causing them to look red and spidery. Heavy boozers
get them.

13. He's not wearing the über-patriotic flag pin?
He must be some sort of terra-ist!

And that's a really ugly tie.

15. Can't they be cleared up with plastic surgery?

Assuming one has the $$$ and the guts to have it done? Must be less painful than a face lift, I'd think. I've seen face lifts done on TV surgery shows and YUCK! Peel my face off and put it back tighter? YUCK! :scared:

18. the bike-fall abrasions aside, it looks like
seborrheic eczema.

I have that a bit also. That could explain why it's sometimes there and sometimes not, because the only decent medication is topical steroids with anti-fungals. And you aren't supposed to use them continuously to avoid skin atrophy and scarring and "gin blossoms" (I forget the technical term).

It sucks. Sometimes you're perfectly clear, then bang, it's back.
