1. My favorite paragraph...LOL
"President Bush gave a talk that was a to-do list of minor and obvious steps in Iraq. It was no more creative or inspiring than a list stuck on the refrigerator: “Buy milk. Mail letters. Take Freddy to soccer practice.” There was no context, no history, little vision."

2. This quote is hilarious...
"I, too, thought the speech lacked something, but later realized it was like a story being told, with more chapters to come....it seemed almost too intellectual in some ways..."

The Chimp coming across as too intellectual?? This from a guy who gets confused when he has to use words with more than two syllables in it.

4. Too Intellectual...that one got me too...

The replies of denial are halarious...

Bush is skewered as a substanceless dork by one of their own...only a few seem to be able to accept it.

6. Let's face it - they are in a fucking daze
They bought a bunch of shit and half of it has been exposed as shit so they don't know what to do now.

They are suffering severe cognitive dissonance. I don't think they imagined this was going to happen. The US dropped the ultimate weapon of defeat on itself - a weapon never before seen in war - pictures that contradict the mission and reveal how depraved it is.

I think we have lost patience for war. It's too untidy and it takes too long. Without something to really fight for, it just wears off. It's only good for about a quarter, then it's like - "well, what else is new, I'm bored."

How ridiculous to remember the beginning for the war with Ollie North in the gas mask on the green night vision camera. How fucking pathetic in retrospective.

This was is like a kid with no parental control. He ate his whole bag of candy and now he's going to puke.

5. The language was not Bushlike
That was my perception. Here was Bush reading all these long well articulated things a speechwriter would pen - but Bush doesn't talk like that.

What would have worked for him owuld have been a swaggering cromagnon tough guy act. All he had to do was mimic the mindless arguments of their supporters - "well, at least we didn't cut their heads off" and the like.

He was too coached. He kept shifting his view left, center right center like a robot. It was so montonous it put me to sleep quickly.

These guys truely lack balls. If they had just ignored public opinion and gone full speed ahead, they would not have come off like a bunch of regretful pussies who know they did wrong.

Heck reading about German and Japan like that you can almost imagine that Iraq was somehow the right thing to do, if it weren't for the fact that they didn't have any weapons and they didn't attack us.

7. An amazing thread!
For DUers to acknowledge that some Freepers might sometimes have a modicum of intelligence and rational thought is indeed fucking amazing!

19. Just because a person posts on Frei Republik doesn't necessarily
mean they are freepers. A lot of DUers post a few things there as well. At least for a few posts until they get banned. I'm sure this one will get banned as well. You can not question the Bush* Cabal and remain a freeper.

Edited on Fri May-28-04 12:31 AM by soundgarden1
this one really nails just how delusional these people are.

"Bush didn't MOAB Najaf and Fallujah. He hasn't sent Muslims in the US to internment camps. He would be leading by 20 points in the polls if he did these things. The country really doesn't have as many Democrats and left leaning independents as are observed in most polls that show Kerry leading the election, those people are really closet "uber-conservative" who would switch and vote for Bush if he did those things. The New York Times would endorse him if he only MOABed someone, anyone. "

or maybe that's one of us over there making them look silly, either way - it is.

I read an article last week the MOAB got shelved and was never deployed. It is now a museum piece.

22. LOL!
Yes, I am actually a closet "uber-conservative"! But if Bush would have MOABed Najaf and Fallujah and killed everyone in both cities, I'd switch and vote for him.

That's delusional even more than usual in Freeperland.

And to make my disguise even more sneaky, I tell all the pollsters who call me that I'm going to vote for Kerry! That way they won't recognize that I am soooooo Uber Conservative! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! That will show those darn leftists, if there really ARE any in this country!

that he has lost his way".
"I hope you aren't in the Dick Morris camp demanding he learn to speak 'women'."
"Seriously I cannot understand how so many on the hardcore extreme right think it is better to run away from Bush over Iraq and immigration. Would you guys prefer Kerry as President?"
"('Kristol and the gang') They'd jump ship in a minute if it kept their ideology afloat...our 'so-called' friends".

That disqualifies him for being a human being."

17. Ha Ha! But it's OK for a lawyer to argue bush's case
in front of the Supreme court to stop the counting votes, or Cheney's case over those secret energy task force meetings, or for the multitude of people with law degrees to serve in the bush administration.

I love how freepers reveal their stupidity with remarks like that.
