Clear Channel abuses patent system
http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story?id=6066617

They bought a patent for technology to record and burn cd's at live concerts and are now claiming that they have the exclusive rights to do so.

2. The U.S. patent system is horribly flawed
its something that is rarely adressed in public discourse, but patents are used far too often to supress competition and development. Also patents are used by the purveyers of phoney products to fool people, because the patent office does not care if the patented device actually does what the patent claims it does.
