Whatever happened to the FEMA [conspiracy] theory?
Edited on Tue May-25-04 03:49 PM by PotatoBoy
I remember I first heard about this in the early/mid-90's, this whole thing about how the government WANTS terrorist attacks and things of that nature to happen to this country, so that FEMA can declare a national emergency and then martial law takes effect, and then they can literally do whatever they want, forget the Constitution or US code or any of that.

The more tin-foily part of it: I remember seeing an image of the US divided up into regions, with roman numerals, and supposedly this is where people would be ushered into "camps" of some kind. Anyone know what picture I'm talking about? (I think the 3rd link below might be it)

Here are some links I found. One of them talks about using prison camps in case massive amounts of immigrants try to enter the US..but imagine how easy it would be to use these for US citizens.

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/pages/camps.html
http://www.freedomfiles.org/war/fema.htm
http://www.apfn.org/pdf/camps.pdf
Or just google: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&c2coff=1&q=fema+concen...

So how true is this stuff? Is it ultra-paranoid conspiracy theorist junk? Or is this commonly accepted now as the truth, and what we can expect eventually? Is it a right-wing thing, or will this happen regardless of who's in power?

Please share other materials if you know of them.

2. Time will tell....
Unfortunately, we'll get to discuss it only if it turns out to be false.

3. Here's a link to prisonplanet, which is a conservative conspiracy
theory site, but definitely anti-Bush. You can scroll down the page and find additional links.

I don't know how seriously to take this stuff, but I wouldn't put it past them.

4. I remeber in late 2000 before the election... some of my more
conspiracy minded right wing friends said that Clinton would stage a military emergency if Bush won so they could keep power. The opposing side always has a fringe element with the craziest ideas and how they could be possible.

There will be no coup... there will be no FEMA take over... there will be military shutdown of the country...
