My E-Mail From Dish, RE: Air America
Thank you for your e-mail. As you know, DISH Network is proud to announce the addition of the Sirius music services launched May 18th. The Sirius music service is part of the America's Top 120 and America's Top 180 programming packages. The Sirius music service will eventually replace the CD music channels currently offered to residential subscribers. The 61 channels will be the same music channels that Sirius broadcasts on their service today; however, DISH Network will not be carrying the sports and talk radio Sirius channels, such as, Air America.

To get all of the programming that Sirius offers, including Air America, you would need to sign up for their monthly service. To reach their Customer Care Center anytime night or day, call 1-888-539-SIRIUS (7474) or visit them at [email protected] . Retailers will have the ability to sell the co-branded DISH/Sirius satellite radio receiver to both new and existing DISH Network customers. Please use the following link provided to locate a retailer near you. http://www.dishnetwork.com/search/retailer/index.as

If you have any further questions, please call our offices at 1-800-333-DISH (3474).

As a current customer, you may also use our website to view your current or previous billing statements, add services, or make payments to your account. Please use the link https://customersupport.dishnetwork.com/customercare/UserManagement/login.jsp to visit our Online Customer Support Center.

Your business is greatly appreciated and we thank you for allowing us to be of assistance to you. If you have any further questions or concerns, please refer to www.dishnetwork.com.

Well, shucks - this is a big disappointment!

1. If DISH had any marketing sense, it would offer Air America...but then...
what do i know. I do know that I will be getting Sirius and not XMSR. Sirius will be offering video also.

2. Part of My Response to Dish
It's sad that in order for a liberal to listen to the ONLY viable liberal radio network in the country, we must pay for a vast majority of right-wing stations too! It won't happen, I can tell you that right now. I will not give Sirius money that would support the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage and other right-wingers in order to listen to Air America.

6. Sirius is well worth it
I'm not sure what you mean by "we must pay for a vast majority of right-wing stations too!" Sirius actually has just as many, if not more, liberal talk shows. Sirius has two stations dedicated entirely to liberal talk and just one station devoted to right-wingers. It also has a gay channel with some liberal talk and ABC news and talk that has a couple right-wingers like Hannity. It has the audio of the Fox News channel, but it also has three public radio stations.

7. Oh, I Was Just Being Difficult....But Here's The Real Deal....

It's very misleading that Air America is coming soon to Dish as advertised on AAR web site.

I will be getting all 61 Sirius Music stations on Dish soon anyway. So if I want to hear AAR, it truly is only thru Sirius, nothing to do with Dish. I buy the unit, pay the full monthly subscription rate and get all Sirius stations (music & talk)

AAR needs to delete the line "coming soon to Dish" if this will not be the case.

3. I thought DIsh was set to add AAR to their line-up? Was on the AAR
page of coming soon, wasn't it?

4. I'm thinking it's a clearance issue
So many shows, It would be difficult to clear rights for all of them.

Lots of red tape.

I wouldn't blame Dish for this. Must be a legal nightmare.

5. this doesn't mean Air America won't be on Dish Network
Maybe the potential deal between Dish Network and Air America has nothing to do with Sirius.
