Original message
BBV: let's call Tom Daschle's office this Monday-Friday.
"The Voter Confidence Act," bill number S.1980, to require electronic voting machines to print paper ballots, is in the "Senate Rules and Administration Committee."

Tom Daschle is both the Senate Minority Leader and a member of the "Rules and Administration Committee."

Please call his office this week, ask to speak to someone about "The Voter Confidence Act," and then leave a message for Senator Daschle to cosponor it or use his position on the "Rules and Administration Committee" to bring it to the floor of the Senate.

Tom Daschle Office Telephone: (202) 224-2321

Please spread this message around the internet if you can, such as posting it on Blog for America, etc.

NOTE: As Democrats, we have a right to talk to to Daschle's office even if we don't live in South Dakota, since he is the leader of the Senate Democrats (Senate Minority Leader).

BBV=black box voting=voting on electronic machines which don't print paper ballots. Some people are against black box voting because the results can be rigged by the voting machine companies and cannot be meaningfully audited.

You can post it on another message-board without referring to me or Democratic Underground. I just want this message spread.

10. It says that the paper is what counts in a recount.
"The voter verified paper record produced under subparagraph (A) and this subparagraph shall be available as an official record and shall be the official record used for any recount conducted with respect to any election in which the system is used."

21. Oh, my pleasure!
It's a bit of a slog, though. All this time and what... one co-sponsor added? Curiouser and curiouser...

S'alright though... just inspires me to tell more people about it. :)
