If the Republicans try and steal the November election...


do you believe that the military would intervene if their malfeasance is exposed.

Its an amazing thought, I know. But it did occur to me that they will have to make a decision.

10. The report by Army officers critical of the whole policy towards Iraq
would be a shot, I think. More and more officers openly critical of Rumsfeld and the rest of the junta and going on record against poor policy decisions which endanger troops and civilians needlessly. I think many good people of honor and duty have just about had enough. Wasn't there a news story this AM about a report by US Army Officers comparing the Invasion of Iraq to the mess in Vietnam (only without the help of local army and security forces as in Nam) Then there were the intelligence people (retired and active) who went on record as being very critical of the junta a few weeks ago. Seems there is a growing population of those who serve who are not willing to be further abused.

Also, federal workers seem to be getting more organized. Havocdad checks his fed workers' news sites as soon as he gets home every evening. They are keeping a very critical eye on what is going on.

Like I said, those who serve the nation (as opposed to those who look to fleece it) are showing signs of not tolerating more abuse from the junta. There are people out there who value honor and duty. I would never count them out in the matter of defending the nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic. And I believe the officer who follows the pResident* with that briefcase does NOT carry the real launch codes. I have to believe the military is smarter than that just so I can sleep most nights.

12. You raise excellent points

I believe the experience of being deployed in Iraq, and then having their stay extended again and again, certainly doesn't endear the admin to the soldiers. But I believe its the generals that you have to keep an eye on.

3. If it gets bad enough,
Neocons won't let the elections happen. Terra will shut the elections down. So, another question would be will the military back shrub declairing Marshal Law and making himself head of state for an "undetermined" period?

I used to think that I would take up arms to defend the union. But now I don't believe anyone would follow such a lead.

I'm lead to the belief that whatever happens in '04, Americans will lay down and take it. Maybe I should put more stock in the John Titor Prophecy though which says we'll have the begining of civil war late this year early next year.

B. Violence will be an appropriate response.

C. If the military were to get involved, it would splinter, with proponents of each side taking up arms against the other.

I think the odds of a civil war in the US are nearly as great as those for a civil war in Iraq.

It's OUR job to overthrow the government, not the people who abide by codes of conduct that do not include questioning authority.

That rationale only fuels the rationale that we should be a military state. And if you believe that, you should review the documents which established the United State of America and quit politics.

19. Hey, if a soldier is given an illegal order, isn't there an obligation to
disobey it?

Well, if orders are given by an illegal government (one resulting from a coup where an election is stolen) what does the guy in uniform do? Refuse the order, refuse to grant authority to the illegal entity claiming the right to give the orders, stand down until proper civilian authority can be restored then back up that proper authority and haul the criminals involved with election tampering and lock them up as per civil law. That is all it would take. Just say no to Chicken Hawks illegally camped in the Nation's offices.
