2. His name
The governor of Texas doesn't do much anyway. The Lt. Governor is the real power-holder.

3. He had no skills for the job.
His life, to that point, had been a gimee. The Texas constitution intentionally made the position of governor relativly weak, so Bu$h was able to "grow" into the office. Bu$h did prove to be very efficient at signing death warrants (152, I believe).

4. He bankrupted several businesses and traded away Sammy Sosa
Apparently, that's considered 'qualifications' in Texas.

12. ...and to think
I still hear people fawn over how he "turned the Rangers around."

W-T-F?!?!? No one knew who that dingleberry was until he was elected Governor! "Turned the Rangers around" my pasty white butt!

Like most of Bush's resume of accomplishment in Texas, it's all hat, no cattle.

5. None
He didnt' even want the job. He held off Republican leaders for a year, waiting and hoping he'd be named Baseball Commissioner. If only Bud Selig had gotten out of the way, we wouldn't be stuck with the little rodent ruining the country.

8. Bob Bullock's endorsement............period.
Of course Rove was the strategist.

I wish someone would write about that whole thing and investigate what REALLY caused Big Democratic leader Bob Bullock's endorsement of a Republican idiot over the very popular Ann Richards (whom the GOP smeared mercilessly).

10. I think he became Governor in Texas
the same way he became President with a lot of underhanded back stabbing. I used to visit Texas in the winter during Ann Richards term and I couldn't find anyone who didn't like her. I may be wrong but I was stunned when she lost to Bush.

14. Well the GOP has made it perfectly clear that they will apply ANY means
to an end. I think that's the only truthful thing they've ever uttered, and I for one take them at their word.
