WTF? U.S. Troops Raid Chalabi's House in Iraq
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=1&u=/ap/20040520/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_chalabi

BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. soldiers and Iraqi police raided the residence of Iraqi politician Ahmad Chalabi on Thursday, and aides accused the Americans of holding guns to his head and bullying him over his criticism of plans for next month's transfer of sovereignty.

(snip)

Salem Chalabi, nephew of Ahmad Chalabi and head of the Iraqi war crimes tribunal, said his uncle told him by telephone that Iraqi and American authorities "entered his home and put the guns to his head in a very humiliating way that reminds everyone of the conduct of the former regime."

The younger Chalabi said the reason for the raid was unclear but "they must be afraid of his political movement."

(snip)

Given that we know Chalabi is a lying opportunistic weasel, should this be taken as bullshit?

1. I See Cleavon Little...
Holding that gun up to his neck. One more step and the "n" gets it.

This is like the RNC raiding the Christian Coalition. "Nothing to see here...move along"...

Here's hoping all these bloodsuckers eat each others alive. I'm really hoping!

2. Maybe Bush is just trying to bolster Chalabi's 'street cred'
in the Rap Game tradition, building him up as Public Enemy #1.

4. You take our money, you put up with our shit
So what, we are treating him the way we are treating other Iraqi's. Is he still getting about $350,000 a month from us. Is he still in charge of letting out many of the contracts that are being paid by our tax dollars and taking his cut. Fuck him, I have no sympathy for him, none at all

6. Serves him right for trusting the US and causing so many deaths of Iraqi
people. In effect, Chalabi has handed the reigns of Iraq to the neocons that have highjacked the US government. How long will it be before Americans wake up and discover that they are a nation under seige?

7. Just heard on CBS radio news,
The troops siezed documents and computers, and were looking for 2 of Chalabi's "associates". The report made it seem that Chalabi has turned his back on the US, so, the US is going after is organization.

If the US REALLY wanted to screw Chalabi, they should put him on a plane for "a meeting with the President", but land in Jordan. Then kick his ass out of the plane.

8. The US allowed him to get his hands on all the evindence in the
UN "oil for food" investigation. It might have something to do with that.

This could get very interesting though. Chalabi is an amoral double-dealing, lying sack of shit who is at the center of the justification for invading Iraq. He probably knows stuff that could cause Bush an awful headache. Now that he's being treated by the Americans like your average Iraqi, could he start to spill the beans?
