Senator Levin says that he's been assure by Warner that there will be investigations and hearings, including from the Senate Armed Services committee, as a result of the contentions in Sy Hersch's article.

9. Hersh has another bombshell report.

It was reported on the Today show that Hersh's report states that high-ranking Bush Administration and Pentagon officials, including Rumsfeld and Rice signed off on the plan to authorize the treatment of Iraqi prisoners that we've been hearing about in recent days. It also states that Bush knew about this several months ago, not when 60 Minutes aired their report a couple of weeks ago.

Of course, the White House and Pentagon is adamantly, categorically denying these charges. On MTP, Colin Powell deferred any statement to the Pentagon officials who have seen the report, saying that he's only seen a summary. He's not exactly denying it. I'd think if he's privy to such information, Powell would have denied it on the spot during his interview with Russert. But he left that element that it may have happened, but he hasn't seen the full report.

Seymour Hersh has lobbed about a half-dozen such bombs on the Bush Administration and its handling of the Iraq war. And the attention to his reports has been growing each week. He may wind up being to Bush what Woodward and Bernstein were to Nixon.

10. Lindsay Graham Stand-Up Repugnican

I thought he was gonna play the spin point with the early shot at Kerry, but then turned and told his own to shut-up and now wants to get to the real truth of what's going on. This dude must be getting an earful from the jarheads in South Carolina and knows he's gotta distance himself from the regime. A good gauge on how pissed the military vote is. I wonder the reactions from Hagel and other Repugs who must be despising what the PNAC'ers are doing to their beloved military.

He says if they convene hearings, very senior officials, if given protection, will tell them about some very awful things that have gone on. Sy says the Senators should go for it.
