Bushbots in the classrooms -
Edited on Sun May-16-04 12:04 AM by nu_duer
Just saw a local report that the Berg "event" had been aired in schools. A "teacher" showed the video in class. Another was being criticized for airing the audio only of the "event." Wonder if that teacher listens to hannity?

Middle and High schools, I believe, and both principals were stating that this was wrong and would be corrected. No idea if these were local and/or isolated incidences.

That that video was shown in public schools, that is outrageous, isn't it? Its only possible effect would be to terrorize the captive audience of children, who are there to learn in a supposed atmosphere of trust. Its not like you can't discuss the issue without watching or hearing it, is it?

On a different note. my 13yr old nephew told me a couple of days ago that his teacher told the class that Kerry would bring back the draft, but that bush wouldn't. Yeah, I know. Its a private "Christian" school, and that was his response when I pointed out that his teacher has no business campaigning while he/she is supposed to be teaching.

My nephew said Kerry was going to bring back the draft because his teacher told him so. Wonder what the kids who saw and heard that video and also heard, I'm sure, from the teacher(s) what to think about it, and what they told their parents, and friends.

Should this bother me?

What are your kids telling you?

2. Public schools should not permit propaganda
for any political cause. They are for learning, not indoctrination

6. Go hammer that teacher!

Yes this should bother you. I would go and either complain directly to that teacher or to the Prinicpal and if the teacher refuses to tell kids the truth I would start asking for equal time.

If any teacher started lying to my kids I would be in there with tons of paperwork to prove otherwise and make the teacher look like a moron in front of the entire class.

Next step is a coalition of parents. Christian schools are pussies, they'd back off. Hit the entire school worth of children with papers debunking that teacher.

If we don't do this at every instance, our kids are going to grow up and be the brainwashed FAUX News believing, desensitized to humanity Republicans. I'm pretty sure this is how so many have gotten through already.

We don't have to forcibly control kids thoughts, but we should never let schools teach our kids outright propaganda lies to change the future generations' thinking on the subject.

And god knows there's enough proof of the Bush 2005 Draft to bring into that class room.

8. You mean the "Kerry=draft" teacher
right?

Well, the dude is my nephew, and I really don't have any say in what school he goes to, but it is a private Baptist school and it just rubs me the wrong way that he said that to me. He knew he'd struck a chord with me as soon as he'd repeated that. He's a cool kid, and smart - smart enough to know a lie when he sees one.

7. my son goes to a private christian school
my son has talked to some students in his 3rd grade class how bad bush is, but in class has kept mouth shut. when bush said he wanted to amend constitution and i was such a mess with the press coverage of bush and the war........i went into class and talked to teacher. told her my son wasnt going to keep his mouth shut anymore and i expected her to respect that. he had strong feelings and need to express andi expect nothing less from the school and teachers.

the otehr day in class they were talking bush, and edmund asked the class and teacher........why do you bring bush up to god

before the end of the year i am going to talk to the head dude. i want to know when they talk current affairs, what grade and what they are talking. if it is merely pro bush and reciting what bush says about kerry and their agenda that only republicans can be christian
