Timeline of Iraq. Twilight Zone episode 21
Edited on Sat May-08-04 07:59 PM by sgr2
1. US invades Iraq, holds thousands of detainees, particularly Sunnis in the center parts of the country near Baghdad.

2. Many detainees abused, tortured, raped, etc.

3. Most detainees released back in to population as new ones come into system.

4. Released detainees join insurgency in large numbers. Some because of unemployment, almost all because they want payback.

5. US begins handing over control to former Saddam officials to help stop insurgency.

6. Former Saddam military officials begin hiring back the original tortured detainees who had become insurgents.

Why do you think Falujah became so quiet so quickly??

Because the very people who we tortured, released, fought us again.... ARE NOW BEING PUT IN CHARGE!

Isn't it ironic, don't you think?
