Storm the White House Thread

This is MY thread, so don't fill it up with a lot of 'it'll never work' garbage.

I've always been impressed at what happened when communism fell.
The Russian people, over two million of them, surrounded their seat of parliament which was actually called 'The White House', and walked in the front door and pushed the cockroaches out the back door.

Not a drop of blood was spilled, even though The White House was surrounded by the army, with rifles and tanks. The men in the tanks could not fire on their own people, and they were never ordered to.
The whole thing was peaceful, and orderly. It wasn't a riot, or a wild mob, just millions of citizens who said, "That's it, you're fired".

We could do the same. Only our own way. We could remind people that The White House belongs to US. The White House, in all it's garish magnificence, is simply a structure. But it is a symbol, like the flag, of an ideal.

The man in there right now, in OUR White House, is a maniac. We need to remind the sleeping and the distracted and the hypnotized that these elected officials WORK FOR US, and they are doing a lousy job of it. They are supposed to protect us, but they are putting us in grave danger. They are only getting away with it, because NO ONE IS STOPPING THEM.

You can't reason with people like Rumsfeld, Bush Sr., Wolfowitz et al. You can't just vote them out. They'll still be there, like a cancer, no matter who wins the election this fall, if there even is one. Look how they hijacked Clinton's entire 8 years with vicious attacks. It was their only agenda, besides conquering the globe.

Even if our guy wins in November, these maniacs will still be there, attacking him, desperately clawing for power. They've already shown us that they are capable of great evil. They have committed countless acts of high treason, and war crimes, with utter disregard.

These are the type of men who must be pushed out, not by committee, or by vote, or by term limits, but by our own hands. The fact is folks, we hired them, and we should fire them. And we should just skip the standard two weeks notice. And just say, "Look, you're fired, and I want you out of here RIGHT NOW".

We the people could do this. The Russian people did it. A revolution doesn't have to be a bloody riot. Witness last month's gathering of pro choice women in D.C. That crowd right there, would be just about the perfect size to surround Our White House and simply walk in the front door, and occupy the place, and clean up the stink and corruption once and for all.

You just can't have a major roach infestation in your house. What will people think?

My guess is you'd need about 5 million people to make it work. But if you think you can storm the white house or congress without getting shot at, I think you're sorely mistaken.

they wouldn't dare shoot any of them! Oh, I forgot about the ones they are shooting in Iraq!

4. Tell you what

If you can convince more people than there are police + military personnel in and around Washington DC to covertly get together whilst Bush is in residence, storm the White House and then unanimously agree to put someone that they all want in power into the Oval Office, I'm there.

Otherwise, it's a pipe dream...quite a nice one though!!

12. Hmmm

Although it would be nice to take part in such a historic event, i can't help but think that a foreign national taking part (should things go the other way) would do more harm than good to the cause.

And then there's the possibility of being considered a terrorist and as a foreigner being denied the right to trial and representation.

If it went the people's way, it would be worth the airfare though.

5. A few thoughts

Viscerally, I want us to occupy the streets and public spaces of the Capitol and keep anything from happening there until Bush and Cheney resign.

But, do you really think we would be better off with President Dennis Hastert?

Also, you do know that they have a shadow government in place, hidden in a hollowed out mountain, don't you? It is entirely possible that they would simply transfer authority to it, making occupation of the Capitol moot.

Also, unless we could make sure that what we were doing was to be a nonviolent sit-in type event, it could spin out of control very alarmingly, and I certainly don't want to be party to that.

in the Soviet Union, a large majority were opposed to the government they had; in the US, the right wing are nearly orgasmic over the government they have. A sizable number of them would feel all "gotta protect the government as patriots" and mount an opposition "counter-revolution."

We may, as a nation, reach the point the Soviets did where the maojrity had had enough, but we're not there yet.

I'm not saying it'll never work; just that bad as things are, it isn't nearly bad enough yet.

and that group of people are the ones who make the trains run on time, blue collar, semi educated, easily duped, they are beginning to see * & Co. for the lying nazi bastards that they really are but we have a long way to go.

14. Quite unfortunately,

ours would be much bloodier, since much of our military and police are run by freeper goons. The russian soldiers and police were much more sick of the communist system than ours are of the corporate fascist system. I'm afraid though, that we are on a slow train toward nuclear war with the rest of the world if the same type of people stay in power in this country. WW3 is in our future if these xtian fundamentalists stay at the helm. So maybe something has to be done. Myself I don't think a little thing like an election will keep an appointed by god leader like GWB from retaining power. Britain and even Israel will be our last allies to fall off.

15. There are too many loyalists

and the good people protecting the White House have no qualms about killing Americans. Well they may have qualms, but they won't hesitate to kill us. That's their job, it's what they do!
