I was asked why i despise bush and i answered "he is a gastrointestinal irritant and makes me regurgitate"

According to this month's Mother Jones (can't find the survey on-line, but here's a sample)....

From a University of Connecticut survey entitled "State of the First Amendment":

34% of Americans agree that the First Amendment "goes too far";

28% of Americans agree that newspapers should not be able to publish freely without government approvals;

38% of Americans agree that the American press has been too aggressive in asking government officials for information regarding the war on terrorism;

and - the kicker...

12% of Americans agree that Americans have "too much freedom to speak freely."

Its a low number, but the fact that any American would feel that indicates that at least 12% of Americans clearly have no idea about the history or foundation of this country.....

4. I would venture a bet those stats would be considerably higher if the poll
were conducted at Freeperland.
