He was caught up in the frenzy around the fall of Bagdhad and looted some government offices. Unfortunately for him, he stole some desks with petroleum paperwork still in them so he was later arrested and sent to Abu Ghreib prison. His wife appealled to officers for his release, but they said he was under suspicion as a Saddam sympathizer and one with knowledge of the oil resources.

So....he was beaten, kicked, had electrodes attached to him, stripped, forced to masturbate in front of a woman, forced to emulate anal sex with 5 other men.

He is still in prison with no formal charges. His wife has to figure out how to support her sons and deal with spotty electricity, water, phone service.

She wakes up every day and wonders if this is what Democracy is.

The fundamental truth is that those who have been taken prisoners by US and UK soldiers are the vile remnants of Saddam brutal army of oppression who, together with imported Jihadists, have set out to kill as many Coalition troops as possible. These are the people who delight in desecrating the bodies of dead Americans. These are Saddam’s spawn and whilst no one condones any unwarranted abuses of prisoners a little bit of context might go some way to explain the images.
