16. It was a long question, but the highlights were:

1) The focus on the pictures as the problem as opposed to the fact that the abuses took place is "missing the point"

2) Rumsfeld's announcement that the Guantanamo detainees did not have any rights under the Geneva convention sent the "signal" to the military that they didn't have to worry about these things any more

3) The hideousness of these abuses should have been obvious to anyone who read the report, whether or not they had seen the pictures

4) Since Rumsfeld is complaining about the fact that this stuff was leaked when it's part of a criminal investigation, how is it that a case "with no basis in fact" against a Muslim chaplain in Guantanamo could be publicized in the press by 'government sources' while the investigation was in process without anyone having a hissy fit?
