What did he do?
It is unknown from which of his arrests this mug shot originates. This is because between 1954 and 1966 King was a well-known criminal in Ohio. Allegedly, he was arrested for murder, arson, suspicion of drug dealing, carrying a concealed weapon, and manslaughter.

When?
Between 1954 and 1966.

Charged?
Unknown for some of the offenses, but he was allegedly charged for the murder of Hillary Brown and manslaughter of Sam Garrett. The Hillary Brown murder was later ruled self defense. King was arrested for non negligent manslaughter after stomping and pistol whipping Sam Garrett to death. He was tried and convicted of 2nd degree murder, but a retrial was ordered by the judge. At the retrial King was convicted of negligent homicide.

Sentence?
Unknown for many of his arrests, but he allegedly spent 3 and a half years inside for Sam Garrett's death.

Don King backs Bush

From correspondents in Washington

COLOURFUL US boxing promoter Don King has thrown himself into the political arena by lending his voice to a Republican Internet "game" attacking Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, the Republican National Committee announced today.

The game, found on the web at www.gop.com/kerryvskerry, shows King in a boxing ring announcing a fight between Kerry and Kerry.

"Ladies and Gentlemen - Welcome to Kerry versus Kerry, the battle for the Democratic Party," King announces with his trademark toothy smile and grey mane.

2. I'm glad he's not on our side.
P.S. If the Republicans think that this will help them win African-American votes, they are wrong.

African-Americans no longer vote as a bloc in the U.S. People of color, no matter what their cultural or ethnic background, occupy every strata of American society. There are ultra-conservative African-Americans, moderates, and liberals. There are Christian African-Americans and atheists.

Both political parties would do well to stop the stereotyping of people by ethnicity. Sometimes I feel that the party leaderships are decades behind the rest of the population!

This ain't the 70s anymore.
