Arnold press conference 2PM EST
Edited on Sat Aug-09-03 01:09 PM by rocknation
Is Bustamante going to get equal time? Are they going to cover any of HIS press conferences? You'd think Arnold was the only person running! I understand Maria will be taking a leave of absence. He says he's a passionate and serious person who will represent anybody. Well, we know he's running--are we going to hear anything new?

5. I simply cannot believe anyone in CA
would even consider voting for Ahh-nuld! At least, though, he's not as bad as some of the other repukes in the running. I never thought I'd say this, since I've always wanted to live in CA, but I thank God I'm not living there right now!

4. Huh? That's it? It's over? He just said thank you and good night?
Hmmm, CNN's doing a special on the recall at 10PM. Well, you Californians have sixty days to convince the public that this recall is nothing short of an right-wing coup!

7. CNN's Bob Franken was just whoopin' some ass
Here's what CNN reporter Bob Franken said to Arnold in the press crush, cameras running, mini-transcript, thanks to my Tivo:

Franken: "When are you going to get to our questions, sir? Do you think it's appropriate not to be prepared when you run for Governor to have the substantive answers to questions that might be asked?"

Arnold: "Let me make the decision..."

Franken: "Aren't the press supposed to be the ones, sir, who inquire about a candidates qualifications?"

Blow-off by Arnold and Maria after that.

18. Fuq it let him win...........
let him and the gop take another fall for not beign able to handle a job...Cause the Cali Crisis is big and messy and what are they gonna do raise taxes????? Shit Isn't tht Lt.Governor just as much to blame for the mess as Davis.... What mess anyways, How in the hell can they be in trouble? Cali taxes are damn near the worst anywhere.....

And why in the Fuq......are schools and Social services the first things looked at whenever a state starts having problems?? Ya its a big piece of the pie, but time and time again they neglect other aspects of that very same pie astounds me...

9. Maria Shriver gave a ringing endorsement to Arnold
Had you watched the Faux coverage, Maria said that Arnold will be inclusive to Democrats, Independents, Republicans, and minorities. Maria said that Arnold will work hard to bring back California to where it should be at.

13. Cool! So, his wife is on his side.
How reassuring.

I must say I find it rather patronizing when an esteemed member of the Kennedy family pretty much tells the California voter, "Dude, don't worry, Arnold will take care of Dems, too."

Sigh...

16. Like McCauliff told the Democrats to stick with Davis?
Davis is toast and has been toast for so long that only the most blind partisans are still in denial.

Face it! The vast majority of Californians want Davis out.

15. Schneider makes one very good point though....
... how many of these "fans" that are turning up at Ah-nold events are actual voters? Will he be able to register these "fans" to vote while it still counts?

Let's hope not,
Jennifer ;-)

Fun twist. FOX News is reporting that California Democrats are organizing to recall whichever Republican may when the recall. And so on and so on. Ad infinitum.

17. I am sure that will get them a lot of votes...
This is not the time for a pre-pubescent temper tantrums! We have in Cruz Bustamante an excellent candidate that has experience and that lacks all of the flaws of Davis.

We should rally around Bustamante instead of being overcomed with the same arrogance that doomed the Democratic majority in the House in 1994.

and I won't let the fact that he is Latino cloud my support for him. :eyes:

The question is which way will the independent voters vote.
