Clueless Bush not told there is a Resource Problem- 25Billion Supplemental
Although this AP article was included in the NYTimes article http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/national/AP-Iraq-Spending.html and, according to Talkingpointsmemo included the following quote:

<snip>As recently as Monday, a senior administration official played down the need for money right now for U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bush "has not been told that there is a resource problem," said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

That official also said there was currently enough money for reconstruction in Iraq.
<snip>

It's been removed from that AP article, overnight. But you can STILL see the entire AP article here. http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/bw-wh/2004/may/05/050506832.html

1. Wait, so you're saying that
We, the public, can know that $25B more dollars are necessary, but no one has bothered to tell THE PRESIDENT?!? WTF. That's jacked up.

2. ha ha ha
that's almost funny. Apparently Bush learned of the pictures from news outlets and not from his own administration. WTF is that anyways? If this is true he's got a major cabinet problem.

3. BIDEN and Lugar were on TV PLEADING with Bush to ask for
more money and PROMISING they will approve it immediately. This was a few days ago. This is so messed up. We cannot get money for our own hungry, uneducated, or unemployed but we are begging to send more money down this lost cause to kill and torture people we are liberating.

4. Seems to me the Bad Ceo angle is the gum that sticks to Bush's shoe
Uh, what happened to Ceo Skilling of ENRON? He claimed he didn't know what was going on. http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,201536,00.html

JUST LIKE SKILLING, the CEO who wasn't there, and said he wasn't responsible for the company's collapse.

Maybe Bush will eventually end up like Skilling, shouting at passersby while on a drunk and thinking they're all wired to spy on him.

5. Our idiot savant
There seems to be some accepted notion that Bush* is essentially an empty vessel.

He knows NOTHING, not even what the citizenry knows, until it is somehow understood to be time for him to know it. Then his retainers bring him the word.

He really functions as a priest or an oracle, not as a chief executive. He is not expected to actually partake in the work of government, but rather to function on some other level, to express some mystical will.

The scariest part is that a great many of our fellow citizens prefer it this way.
