Pappy Bush warned in 1996: "the "entire Arab world would turn against us"
http://www.creativeresistance.ca/world-awareness/2003-mar06-pappy-bush's-1996-warning-counterpunch-org.htm

"Former President George Bush predicted in 1996 that if the United States were to engage in another war with Iraq, one aimed at overthrowing Saddam Hussein, the "entire Arab world would turn against us" and the U.S. would alienate its allies in the international community.

"To occupy Iraq would instantly shatter our coalition, turning the whole Arab world against us, and make a broken tyrant into a latter-day Arab hero," Bush said in an interview with the BBC marking the five-year anniversary of the Gulf War."

3. I honestly don't know how George Bush could vote for his son
Honestly. He outta be ashamed. Loyalty is WAAAY overated. I prefer being honest. Like those parents in denial, "My son could never have murdered anybody." Please.

6. And how bizarre is it
that Shrub never even discussed the war with his father?

The 1 guy in the world, who had been Pres during a war against Saddam.

I think Shrub has an inferiority complex about his father.

7. Funny you should mention that...
"So George, how do you feel about your mom and dad?"
Psychologist Oliver James analyses the behaviour of the American president

http://irishantiwar.org/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=0001RK&topic_id=1&topic=Irish%20Anti-War

"A direct and loutish challenge to his father's posh sensibility came aged 25, after he had drunkenly crashed a car. "I hear you're looking for me," he sneered at his father, "do you want to go mano a mano, right here?"

As he grew older, the fury towards his father was increasingly directed against himself in depressive drinking. But it was not all his father's fault. There was also his insensitive and domineering mother."

...a very entertaining and thought-provoking read.

8. He followed in his father s footsteps
& failed at everything his father excelled at:

Andover, Yale, academics & sports

Military- his father was the youngest Navy pilot ever. And he volunteered.

Oil business- his father made millions, he failed at every job.

And it goes on & on.

I think his entire presidency is to do it differently than his father & prove he is better.
