Do you believe Hillary secretly wants Kerry to lose?
to pave the way for her to become president in 2008. After four more years of Bush fucking up this country, people will be desperate for a change and they will elect her, regardless of their personal feelings about her. They'll have Clinton nostalgia for the good old days.

5. I don't agree
I think Hillary wants what's best for Hillary. She's an opportunist. It's why she's stayed with her husband. It's why she's a neo-con and war hawk on Iraq.

15. Didn't she call Bush a "visionary" on the Dave Letterman Show
last week? Well, so was Hitler, but of the wrong vision. I don't doubt she is thinking of herself running. Why else would she be a senator from New York. Don't tell me it's because she just LOVES the good people of that state. Senators are always a good shoe-in to the White House.

55. John F Kennedy was the last Senator elected President,.
and John F Kerry will be the next, so being a Senator is hardly a "shoo-in" for the White House. Thanks for playing though.

62. Entirely true
It would be more appropriate to say that Senators have a very high tendency to SEEK the office of president, but fail to obtain it.

9. I have to disagree, trumad. I wish I could believe you were right.
But Hillary has become the poster girl for the DLC. She's all about turning the party to the right ....no matter how eloquently she speaks to liberal audiences. Look at her votes, and look at where she puts Hillary above the party...or above what's best for America.

27. Not at all
Hillary would be a _much stronger candidate_. Kerry is letting himself be defined by the Bush campaign -- Hillary has more strength of character than to let that happen.

Probably won't happen but it's something I'd like to see.

I agree with you
I think Hil wants what's best for this country. If her intentions are to run for the top job, I think she can wait 8 years so the country is back in shape. When Kerry turns the country around, I feel she will have an even better chance of being elected in 2012.

Maybe you have worked with the woman, I know I haven't, but I don't think she would really want that. The "things have to get worse before they can get better, so lets make things worse" rarely works, and I think Hillary is smart enough to know that.

PS. Whats with the flamebait?

Him and I think Boortz get their rocks off dragging this crap through the mud all the time. Yep,Hillary AND Bill are trying EVERYTHING they can do to make sure the Democrats lose this time.

See...Hillary is getting way OLD according to Pigboy. She has to have her shot in 2008 or its all over but the shouting for the Clinton's.

So...Hillary and Bill are doing all they can to throw a wrench in the works of the Kerry campaign so he'll lose!!!

Gawd...and we at DU are accused of being conspiracy theory nuts by flaming RW talk show hosts?? They should listen to themselves...

This is a Rush Limbaugh point, an O'Reily obervation, a bit of Hannity insanity.

First things first, how could any of us EVER know how Hillary actually feels about something like this? All we can possibly do is vainly speculate as though our bullshit opinions matter in what is essentially a matter of fact and one that we cannot ever know.

I am sorry but this is a goofy thread and since you apparently like idle speculation about motive, why did you post this?

Should I speculate?

rather than game us all with the inquiry.

What specifically has she done which would lead you to believe it is so? In responding, please avoid generalities such as "everything she does is for her."

What specific things has Hilary done or said that would lead you to believe she "secretly" wants Kerry to lose?
