Will true republicans vote Bush out in 2004??
http://www.truerepublican.com/

Election 2004 - How do True Republicans take control in 2004 when neo-Republican George W. Bush will be running against a Democrat? Truly, there is no good choice. But it is time to send a message to Republican Party and the Republican National Committee. It is time for our party to return to its roots. The best way to do this is to stun the neo-Republicans by throwing Bush out of office.

4. vote him out? Here's an example...
we have a local talk radio show host, just a small fry. Victor Boc, a conservative republican. He embraces a conservative agenda. He's proud of his conservative roots + a conservative religion to boot.

Government spending? Keep it small. Intrusion in private individuals lives? Stay out of our lives as much as possible.

So when a caller asks him about the government deficit, which is billowing out like a mushroom cloud on the horizon, he says: "It's small. It's small by historical standards". When the caller expresses concern and how can you stand by this if you're a TRUE conservative? He goes on to assure the caller that it's OK and we'll all be OK. They know what they're doing in Washington.

No.

10. I'm not convinced that gasbags on the radio...
actually reflect the voting population. They are amusing to listen to, but they are still just gasbags on the radio.

I still think that the most important thing is local peer pressure, not the increasing irrelevant media play. When a bunch of people in the office start talking about local taxes, bills, and problems, and who they know who is out of work, can't pay hospital bills, whose business just went belly up... that's what affects people.

Real politics is still local, and if all your friends are doing OK, keep Shrub around to keep up the good times. If not...

5. I think moderate Republicans just won't vote for President.
If they're true blue to what their moderate belief in the Republican party, they won't vote for a Democrat and they sure won't vote for *, the neocon.

9. I hope they do stay home.
We need to elect a lot of progressive Congressmen and Congresswomen.

If they are disgusted with Bush, who knows?

6. YES - MY 67 YEAR OLD LIFE LONG REPUBLICAN DAD IS VOTING KERRY
Edited on Sun May-02-04 12:58 PM by powergirl
I posted my dad's "conversion" about 2 weeks ago. He's one of those "government needs to leave me alone" Republicans. And he doesn't like the Patriot Act (gov't in his business), anti-gay marriage amendment (who cares, who does the government care?), excessive government spending (not fiscally conservative), faith based initiatives (violation of separation of church and state - and stay out of the relgion business). He is voting for Kerry, not because he is a fan, but because he believes that Bush and Ashcroft are scarey and are eroding our rights. Which is true, etc. And I'll take any vote I can.

P.S. We are TEXANS I know a lot of people in this state that voted for dumbass who won't this year.

8. We should all be able to sympathize
After all how many Democrats were there objecting to Clinton's actions during his term. As I look back now, I am ashamed that I did not abject as much as I should have and wonder if we had, would we be in this place today?

11. True conservatives? maybe
They might not vote at all seeing as the choices are a new england liberal or lying neo-con. I expect the Libertarian and Constitution parties may have higher than average votes this year.

Some conservatives hate shrubster, but they would rather pluck out their eyeballs than vote for a liberal.

12. True Republicans, eh?
I like a lot of what they say there. Progressives in elephant's clothing.

But, common sense has no place in modern politics.
