Is Kerry getting speech lessons?
My wife & I were watching the news tonight, and she noticed something about Kerry. She thinks that the tone & inflection of his speaking voice has changed considerably as of late. I agree, it seems as if he sounds more distinguished, or "old school," if you like. Do you think he boosted his speaking voice to counter *'s so-called "folksy" (read: idiotic & rambling) delivery?

1. Probably
Most people who run for President have speech and debate lessons. Kerry already sounds way more intelligent than shrubster. All he needs is a charismatic VP.

2. Now if they can just teach him to keep his tongue in ...
It drives me nuts when people giving speeches continually lick their lips or stick out their tongues, and if you watch Kerry from earlier this year .... there it is :P

No thanks, John .. you're not my type.

3. For shsakes
He has a problem with dry mouth. His voice is worn out from all of the speaking events. Of all of the silly crap . . .

6. As time goes on...
the dry mouth will disappear, not completely, but mints and plenty of water (8 glasses a day) should do the trick.

You don't think CNN or FAUX won't make the same observation, given enough time ?

Oh, and BTW ~ I'm gonna say what I think. Get over it.

8. I don't look at a speaker that hard when watching them on tv.
Except big dog Clinton, maybe.:)

4. Doesn't hurt if he does...
His counterpart JFK wasn't too proud to be tutored by an elocutionist to improve his pronunciation of the "rrrs" and sublimating his MA accent. Tone and inflection are what keep an audience's attention especially when you want to deliver a riveting speech.

7. It's just refreshing
to hear someone who sounds like a statesman, rather than some numbnuts who doesn't know what he's saying.

10. Kerry hired the Edwards people responsible for "Two Nations" speech
The people who wrote and perfected Edwards "Two Nations" stump speech were hired by Kerry a couple of weeks ago.

13. Kerry has always been an excellent speaker...seems you haven't
ever listened to him speak....Kerry was an eloquent stateman when he appeared before Congress in 1971 to represent OUR Veterans...to imply that he is just learning to speak is just more nonsense from people who never paid attention and now work hard to re-select bush*...

why slam Kerry ? and why spend time slamming Kerry on DU???

14. He should take lessons from Ambassador Wilson
Clear, concise, calling an SOB an SOB, rather than the droning tone and careful senatespeak.

15. I don't know about lately
but after hearing what he sounded like in the 1970s, I'm wondering what happened to his accent. So much for his trying to be another JFK, huh?
