most of the torturing is done by the 'american contract workers'
remember them? some folks thought the propa-media term, 'contract workers' meant truck drivers and construction workers, which many of them are. but it's warspeak for 'mercenarie'. they go where the killing is, they pay the rent by slaughtering folks like you and me.

there are an estimated 20,000 of these guys over there in iraq. not all are american. of the four that were killed and mutilated recently, one was a notorious s. african jackal, responsible for hate and war crimes all over the world. not a nice guy.

so we use 'those guys' to do most of the torturing and interrogation.
it takes a special kind of person to torture folks, not just anybody can do it, it's a required skill, and you have to have a flair for it, and a unique outlook on life.

we PAY them, to do what the army is not supposed to do. the pictures going around are MILD in comparison to certain other atrocities currently being committed in our names, with our money.
right after 9-11, i remember them saying, 'hey, let's bring torture back for these terrorist thugs', and they suggested sending them 'offshore' to be really really interrogated.

i'm having this awful dream, and i wish i could wake up. i dreamed america was slowly morphing into nazi germany and i was running down the street screaming and then i was surrounded by soldiers.......

3. Can you say GESTAPO?
Give Bush four more years and the party is over forever! We can go ahead on and melt down the Liberty Bell and make Iron Crosses out of it if the GOPers win this one!

and have no civilian oversight.

And the problem isn't that they can do as they please: it's that they can do as the Pentagon pleases, and no one need feign "outrage."
