Pagans against Bush
Have any other neopagans out there done a ritual to get Bush out of office? I wrote my circle's Beltane ritual this past week. I was already pretty irked, and the recent spate of anti-gay state legislation just added to my energy. I had a Kerry sign on the altar that I'll probably bring to every ritual between now and the election.

Here is the main working from my ritual. We went around the circle with each person reading a paragraph or line, and everyone saying the lines in italics.

-----------------------

We live in a dangerous and frightening time. It seems that everywhere we turn there is religious strife, ethnic violence, environmental destruction, terrorism, war, poverty, and despair. Let us now raise energy and dedicate it to peace and prosperity, to a change in the direction of our country, and indeed the whole world.

As pagans, we must take care of this world, for the Goddess is present in all things. If we do not treat the earth, the air, the water, the animals, and our fellow human beings with respect, then we do not respect Her.
Regime change begins at home.

Because we are tired of silence, Free Speech will win.
Because we are tired of prejudice, Tolerance will win.
Because we are tired of want, Abundance will win.
Because we are tired of fear, Confidence will win.
Regime change begins at home.

Because we are tired of division, Unity will win.
Because we are tired of lies, Truth will win.
Because we are tired of hate, Love will win.
Regime change begins at home.

Because we are tired of war, Peace will win.
Because we are tired of despair, Joy will win.
Because we are tired of apathy, Passion will win.
Regime change begins at home.

They will say, "Tax cuts are working."
Yes, for the rich, and our grandchildren will pay their bill.

They will say, "We must be strong to prevent another 9/11."
We can be strong without being tyrants.

They will say, "Ewww! Gay marriage!"
Is that all you've got? Bring it on.

We demand a government which is open and accountable.
Regime change begins at home.

We demand a government which does not maintain prison camps on foreign soil, outside the rule of law.
Regime change begins at home.

We demand a government which does not invade the privacy of its law-abiding citizens.
Regime change begins at home.

We demand a government where abortion is safe and legal.
Regime change begins at home.

We demand a government which recognizes same-sex marriages and civil unions.
Regime change begins at home.

We demand a President who is not all hat, and no cattle.
Regime change begins at home.

We demand a President willing to sacrifice his life in the service of his country.
Regime change begins at home.

We, The People, demand this now!
The people, united, will never be defeated! (repeat chant)

3. Well, no, but one Beltane we whipped up a little anti-Ashkkkroft action
It was right after he bought the drapes for Lady Justice's fetching concrete bosom:

4. Crowley
Well, I suppose one could work in a variation of Crowley's evocation of Typhon/Set that he used on MacGregor Mathers....if one were so inclined.
