AirAmerica

CNN just had a "chuckle fest" by their resident morning freeper
(I forget his name), saying that AirAmerica "is in real trouble".
I'm sure there was a thread here about the resignations of two
high ranking management figures, but they also mentioned that the
Chicago station would go off the air shortly.

Does anyone know the details of this?

I listen every day via streaming webcast, and I've been waiting
for their San Jose and/or San Fran station so I can listen
in my car (I already have the stations on my radio preprogram
buttons, but so far, no AirAmerica).

So, like, am I the only person listening? What are their numbers?
What's the problem? They never run advertisements for products that
I can buy to show my support. Only stuff that sounds mostly like
public service announcements (please get involved in Judy's
education, please tell your kid "Good job on that test", etc, etc)

Why hasn't Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream advertised? How about some ads for
Hollywood films? What about Amazon.com? Hell, if I get my startup
funded, I'll take out ad space. It's as good as any other forum,
isn't it?

1. I don't think that listener volume is a problem...
the audio stream was so overloaded in the first couple of weeks that it was rating as one of the most listened to radio stations on the web.

The Chicago/LA thing is old news and was not an internal AA problem, so I'd suspect that rumours of AA's death have been greatly exaggerated.

CNN reported that LA would not be fixed, and the Chicago would
go away again very soon. And Cafferty was very happy about
this. (He is the resident political officer for the morning program
to make sure that no commentary gets too far to the center).

4. Ben & Jerry's
Yes Ben is a lefty activist (he founded http://www.truemajority.org ), but the ice cream co. was sold (to Pillsbury?) so the two founders are not involved anymore.
