1. We couldn't have hoped for a better GOP primary
It's left the Reps weak and divided and has left Specter nearly broke.

4. da funny papers
have been saying that a "win" for specter is good for bush*

WIN Arlen Specter (R) 51%
Pat Toomey (R) 49%

consider this -- Toomey's campaign was all about how LIBERAL Specter is, in one ad Toomey said that Specter was more Liberal than Kerry

soooo - assume for a moment that Toomey's charges that Specter is as liberal or more liberal than Kerry

we know that bush* is conservative, so how is it that a "liberal Specter" beat out a "conservative Toomey"? Did Specter win because he had bush*'s endorsement -- or did he win because people have had enough of the conservative agenda -- or did he win because people would rather stick with the conservative they know rather than go with a conservative they don't know?

again assuming that Specter is as liberal as Kerry -- isn't Specter's win become more of endorsement for Kerry rather than bush*?
