1. Quite frankly...

this whole thing is making my head explode.

I know we have a war hero vs. a war zero, but why is this important?

It didn't seem to be very important when Clinton ran against that other Bush, or Dole, who saw some action, albeit in a diffent war.

Didn't seem very important when Reagan and Carter compared military records.

I suppose we have to get all this over with, and I have no real problem with pointing out Shrub was a cowardly, spoiled little prick who used Daddy's influence to avoid the draft and get a cushy Guard spot. Just like everything else in his life where he never actually had to do anything for himself.

But, all this was almost 40 years ago, ferchrissakes, and we're talking about who's going to do the job starting next year.

2. because they are attacking Kerry - they are saying he is not a patriot

he is weak on defense, he lied about his medals. . .they brought this up, not Kerry. YOu are right that it was 40 yrs ago, but THey/Bush/Hughes/Cheney are bringing it up, I guess to divert from how horrible their record is.
