kerry's $1000 haircut
Drudge making a big deal of this:

On the Friday before his MEET THE PRESS appearance, Dem presidential hopeful John Kerry flew his Washington, DC hairdresser to Pittsburgh for a touch-up, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

$1000 HAIRCUT? KERRY FLIES IN HAIRDRESSER FOR TOUCH-UP BEFORE 'MEET THE PRESS'

No link yet but ...

OMG! The gloves have to come off! The GOP is making this about everything but the issues. They are determined to ruin this country. RUIN it!

They must be stopped.

Now why would Kerry want to get his hair done before going on national TV? I never heard of such a thing!

BTW, does this remind anyone of the Clinton-LAX haircut story?

But still, I do not agree with a $1000 hair-cut. Kind of makes it look sincere when you sympathize with the working poor.

26. Unfortunately, it's not unbelievable
I would be most disappointed in Kerry if he were that vain about his hair but sadly, the story is not unbelievable and may very well include charges for travel time.

It's not uncommon, in a certain circle, to fly in your hair-dresser. How much do you think Oprah's hair sessions cost? Same thing with Paris and Nikki? Those last 2 run up multi-thousand hair prices for a simple streak, wash & trim. I mean I REALLY hate to excuse this but some people wouldn't dream of letting anyone but their normal barber/hair-dresser touch their head.

40. *'s clothes
What Would Jesus Wear? Not What George is Wearing

Karl Rove has packaged Bush as a down home compassionate God-worshipping Republican "cultural values" populist.

Of course, as all things Republican, the image is undercut by rank hypocrisy.

Take the packaging of the "populist" George Bush. Rove wants you to believe the "Bumbler in Chief," would rather be hauling brush on his Crawford ranch, having a cup of coffee at the local diner, than be in Washington with a bunch of suits.

But if George W. Bush minds wearing suits, BuzzFlash pointed out that he doesn't mind paying $2,000 to $14,000 per suit (See: http://www.buzzflash.com/contributors/2002/12/06_Suits.html), as revealed in a BuzzFlash.com reader commentary from December 6, 2002 (with the source of the information being a Chicago Sun-Times article and an Oxxford Clothes news release). According to that article his inauguration garb came from Oxxford Clothes, and that he was so pleased with the ultra-pricey duds, he bought six more suits.

Any way you figure it, Bush is wearing a collection of suits that costs more than the income of several families at the bottom of the income scale, the kind of families that the Wall Street Journal decries as not paying their full share of taxes. BuzzFlash can't say for sure how many poor family incomes could fit into the cost of Bush's upper crust/elite suit wardrobe, because we are sure that the White House won't tell us where on the $2,000 - $14,000 per suit cost George's suits fit in.

Bush's Suits Cost $2,000 to $14,000

A BUZZFLASH READER COMMENTARY

Here's some trivia for you I saw on the internet. While the press focuses on how much Sen. Kerry's haircuts cost, check out how much President Bush's suits cost. Certainly, if Kerry's haircuts are a story, doesn't this deserve a mention if it's true?

Highlights:

- "But Bush's past style lapses are forgivable because, since his inauguration he's been wearing some of the best tailored garments -- Oxxford suits."

- "This guiding principle ensures Oxxford continues to create top-notch garments for a price --$2,000 to $14,000 --that loyal customers are willing to pay."

- "Mr. Bush was so pleased with the fit of his tuxedo, suit, and topcoat and trousers that he immediately ordered six more garments."

they are trying to put out something about how kerry marries for money and doesn't do any work on his own. they talk about how bush is a real man who "earned" his money and that kerry is taken care of by other women. when in reality, bush has failed at everything he did in life and has always been bailed out by his pappy and his dad's friends.

it's the same shit with them convincing themselves that bush is a true war hero and that kerry is a coward because he wasn't wounded enough or stay in vietnam until he died.

Kerry is a weathy man. In America, this is something we look up to. Now this wealthy man, with more money than he knows what to do with, is putting that money back into the economy.

He could use it to make even more money in a tax sheltered investment, but he's doing his part to make america strong.

... if this is the best they can throw at us, perhaps the GOPers are running scared. They have to stir up things like the "medals controversy" because their guy was snorting cocaine when he should have been showing up for Guard duty. etc. etc.

Soldiers are dying and being maimed daily because of Bush's irresponsibility ... so we have to talk about Kerry's hair.

Cheney is so far up Halliburton's a** he can see its tonsils ... so we have to talk about Teresa Heinz's tax returns.

It's not the "class warfare" angle the Republicans would accuse us of doing if it were about one of their private jets. Nor is it the France reference. Nor is it the Clinton references. Nope. It's that he was so low he had to go for the trifecta and get all three jabs in one story.

Hey, did you hear about Kerry? He gets 1,000 dollar hair cuts! Yeah, he's really wealthy and doesn't care about people like you and me, unlike our current President, who got to where he is with nothing but hard work, determination, and sweat.

Hey, did you hear about Dean? He's really angry and he screamed like a madman. Clearly, the guy is insane, unlike our current President, who believes God is telling him to bomb people and used to stick firecrackers up frogs' butts.

Hey, did you hear about Gore? He's such a compulsive liar! He says he even invented the Internet! What a lying sack of shit, unlike that Bush fellow. Why, he's a moral man who would never lie about inventing the Internet, or a country having a cache of super weapons that could destroy all of us. No, no, that Bush is rock solid.

Hey, did you hear about Clinton? He gets his tallywacker sucked by women who are not his wife! It's true! Why can't he have an outstanding, moral marriage like that Newt Gingrich guy?
