2. When I told my husband BD had lost a leg in Iraq, he was actually

fairly sad about it.

I don't follow it as closely as I'd like, but when I see it every so often, it always scores.

There's another thread here somewhere about what political cartoonists have been up to. One of them drew a cartoon of a couple at their breakfast table together. The man's reading the newspaper and frowning. He says something like - "the war's not going well." The woman's reading too. Her paper is labeled "Doonesbury" and she's looking just as dejected and says "I know."

its not really funny :( but what it is doing is bringing the war home for some, and making a statement about it. I think it has hit the right note, myself.
