Poll re: coffin images
Please vote in this poll if you have the opportunity:

Personally, I am never excited about seeing death related images, but I feel the coffin images MUST be part of the "dialogue" of the war. The Sheeple must see the consequences of *'s ways.

2. Rep. Jim McDermott nails it:
"But Democratic Rep. Jim McDermott of Washington, who served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, said photos of caskets coming home from Vietnam had a tremendous impact on the way Americans came to view that war.

"As people began to see the reality of it and see the 55,000 people who were killed coming back in body bags, they became more and more upset by the war," he said. "This is not about privacy. This is about trying to keep the country from facing the reality of war."

4. Absolutely!
I have seen other folks discussing this point today and in the past. As long as the * junta can keep the "war" antiseptic and more video game like, without real consequences, then folks will not have a reason to voice their opinions. Only by seeing the cold harsh reality of a conflict will folks truly begin to understand what is at stake.

These photos must be seen. And as a military spouse, I am proud to say it and I will continue to do so.

9. "the remains of our service members"
"Quite frankly, we don't want the remains of our service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice to be the subject of any kind of attention that is unwarranted or undignified"

Calling coffin pictures "remains" is just another of the objectionable Pentagon smokescreens we've all grown accustomed to.

I really hate those people.

13. Blown apart blood soaked
bodies of American Servicepeople is what should be shown. The images of Aushwitz are a priceless history of brutality.

15. the Sheeple must see...
then you're the one wanting to politicize the coffins, not the other side...you're using them to make a point...at least as wrong a not showing them

16. Disagree...
Just want the full and complete story to be avialable. It's the GOP that has politicized the matter by not allowing any discussion heretofore.
