Is Bush preparing an invasion of North Korea?
http://www.politicsol.com/dailybriefing/2003-07-15.html

On July 8, the Japanese news agency Kyodo reported that the U.S. Navy was preparing a "striker brigade" made up of an aircraft carrier battlegroup and advanced transport aircraft, as well as other strategic resources, for rapid forward deployment to deal with North Korean.

Is U.S. Seeking to Provoke North Korea into War?

The current issue of U.S. News & World Report discloses that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has ordered Admiral Thomas Fargo, commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, and other senior Pentagon planners to devise a new war plan for a possible hostilities with North Korea.

However, the 'war planning' raises questions about whether the Bush Administration might be goading North Korea into starting a shooting war.

4. Ain't that the truth...North Korea would not be a cake walk.
I seem to remember we had a tad bit of trouble in the 1950-1953 timeframe....

5. Your link is incoherent. A "Striker Brigade" is the new
Army force trained at Fort Lewis & already on orders to report to Iraq this fall--it has absolutely zero to so with the Navy & even less to do with an invasion of North Korea. And the new governor of Hawaii is not the most reliable source of the USA's military plans.

16. ummm, CINCPAC, 1 of 2 military command centers, is located in Honolulu
There are only 2 in the entire world. One is in Europe, and the other is in Pearl Harbor. Think about that movie where the computer wanted to "play a game" and almost started nuclear war w/Matthew Broddrick (I actually worked on the construction documents for that "theater" type room with the video display of the world where all the tracks of the bombs, etc. are displayed back in the late 70's, early 80's when the new facitily was built).

The one in Honolulu is in charge of overseeing the entire Pacific region west of the US, while the one in Europe is has most of the US and points East.

I would think she is kept informed of current plans, as all Hawaiian Governors have been.

Being a repuke, under this current regime, she would have the added bonus of likely having more access to info (just my opinion on that last one).

6. Terrible and downright frightening
Rumdrinker, Bushit*, and the rest are going to stick their heads down the toilet so far one of these days before somebody decides to flush it.

They have no sense of what real diplomacy is. There was no diplomacy whatsoever with Iraq (threatening the leaders of countries with destruction and then bestowing that destruction without any dialogue between the two parties is not diplomacy, excuse me, and let's not forget this is a war of VENGEANCE, pure and simple).

Bushco has had big successes using the US military for their own purposes.

They've insulted the leaders' of counties (namely N Korea) as well, how many CIVILIZED politicians do this sort of thing - especially people supposedly as dignified as presidents? "restoring honor to the white house"? I'm still waiting to see Bush even fulfil a syllable of his phrase, he's a dirty selfish lying scumbag.

While they are also forgetting N Korea has nukes and will use them pre-emptively if they see the US trying to form a war party to invade their country. N Korea has openly and proudly said this, calling Shrubbypants'* bluff. Unless N Korea is bluffing, they WILL strike the US. And, quite frankly, and what I'm about to say is absolutely horrible, but I'm starting to hope they are NOT bluffing. Not when there's no other way to get rid of Bush, he then needs to learn firsthand what being a president is all about. So far he's been an errant child, nothing more. And not all adults are tolerant of errant children.

Does Bush* think that his presidency is a game and trivial just because it was given to him? And are human lives so trivial to him?! I'll even question the validity of the punk-arse "religion" he pretends to believe in. And born-agains are typically maladjusted psychotic sociopath nutters anyway, pardon my being intolerant.

The way Bush* is mishandling everything he does in office, I have no clue as to whom I'm supposed to sympathise with. Bush will get what he deserves, but innocent Americans will likely die because of him. They already are, in the form of our military soliders told to do his bidding. But I mean real innocents. Civilians. And I can't think of anything MORE DISGRACEFUL or horrifying than that, just because Bush misused his great office that was handed to him. :grr:

Bush is just tapdancing on armageddon and he and his satanic, antisocial, unevolved, immoral, and simply evil cabal must be removed from power NOW. 2004 might be too late. The only reason why nobody is fighting him head-on is because he's focusing his hate on countries perceived as antagonistic. But assuming he wipes out all the perceived bad guys, who then becomes evil in turn? Russia again? We've practically wiped them out already economically; their big celebrated change from communism in the early 90s has proven to be a backfire as well, where was Bush I, where was Clinton, where was Bush II?

10. Probably
It's the classic over-extension of someone with his disorder. I won't bring up history's many examples, but you can find quite a few the world over over the past few hundred years.

It's so wrong, so stupid, so against-common-sense, just as he is, that he HAS to invade. Just to prove that we have a two-war+ military capability.

12. No
The military option just isn't on the table here unless there's an aggressive action by Lil' Kim. I think the public posturing by the Administration is just being used to illustrate our 'toughness'.

I think we'll start off with multi-lateral talks and end up with a face-to-face meeting w/North Korea that results in some sort of international aid package in exchange for abolishment of their nuclear weapons program.
