24. c'mon get with the program
If Tenet and * didn't meet, then it obviously is Tenet's fault, since our God-anointed, strong, unfaltering leader has never made a mistake. You can almost write tomorrow's headlines - CIA and FBI asleep at the helm, * blameless. And if it isn't Tenet's fault, then somehow Clinton's penis is at fault.

23. It shows you how desperate they are getting
They are constantly on the defensive now so they need to make up "facts" to attack Clinton. Never take responsibility just blame Clinton.

Hey you all, Clinton isn't president, anymore get over it!

Don't you have better things to do with your time than post on a board full of people who are politically opposed to you, and your ideas, and your candidates?

If I were you, I'd shut my mouth and sit back and LEARN, instead of wasting my time with blind support of an administration that will do NOTHING to benefit me.

"As a matter of fact, I was dealing with terrorism a lot as the President when George Tenet came in to brief me," referring to the August PDB.

So I guess his month-long vacation was directly related to us being unprepared for 9/11.

A quick Google search turned up this outright LIE.

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/3/28/131128.shtml

And yet in the 60 minutes interview with Richard Clarke, Clarke stated that the heads of the CIA, the NSA, and the FBI, were reqiured to meet at the Whitehouse everyday or every other to report what their agency had done in the war against Al Qaida.

*edit nevermind. :)

17. Meeting at White House
Clarke was at the White House working, as I am sure Tenet was also available. But where was George?

You can't exactly be at a daily meeting in the White House when you're on vacation most of the time in Crawford Texas.

I just wodner how much longer Tenet is going to keep falling on his sword for this jerk we have as a President.

in a German television piece, high-reputation public station. According to that, Clinton was not very interested in hearing the intelligenc community. I think a Washington insider said that in an interview, don't remember who.

22. I think you are referring to Clinton meeting with FBI in last year of his
administration. He was being investigated by FBI for Monica and that's why he didn't meet with him. This was reported yesterday out of the 9/11 hearings when Matthews and Slimeman did their dialog.

20. I wonder why . . .
. . . this commission to uncover the reasons behind the most heinous crime on our soil is not being broadcast on a local television network. ABC, NBC, CBS or even PBS. I don't have cable so I've been streaming c-span. Sadly, there are many households in America that don't have a computer, or if they do own one, they lack the knowledge to stream these proceedings. Not everyone can afford to pay for cable either. I'm willing to bet that if they were being broadcast locally, the people would be tuning in.

33. Jamie Gorelick and "the wall"
http://www.democrats.com/

WASHINGTON, April 14 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Judiciary Committee Chairman F. James Sensenbrenner, Jr. (R-Wis.) released the following statement:

"Yesterday, a 1995 memo written by 9/11 Commission Member Jamie Gorelick, in her former role as the second in command at the Justice Department, revealed her actions in establishing the heightened 'wall' prohibiting the sharing of intelligence information and criminal information. Scrutiny of this policy lies at the heart of the Commission's work. Ms. Gorelick has an inherent conflict of interest as the author of this memo and as a government official at the center of the events in questions. Thus, I believe the Commission's work and independence will be fatally damaged by the continued participation of Ms. Gorelick as a Commissioner. Reluctantly, I have come to the conclusion that Ms. Gorelick should resign from this Commission.

"The Commission's Guidelines on Recusals state, 'Commissioners and staff will recuse themselves from investigating work they performed in prior government service.' Commissioner Gorelick's memo directing a policy that 'go(es) beyond what is legally required' indicates that her judgment and actions as the Deputy Attorney General in the Reno Justice Department are very much in question before the Commission. Indeed Attorney General Ashcroft called this DOJ policy, 'the single greatest structural cause for September 11 ... (and) embraced flawed legal reasoning.' Commissioner Gorelick is in the unfair position of trying to address the key issue before the Commission when her own actions are central to the events at issue. The public cannot help but ask legitimate questions about her motives.

"While it is regrettable that this conflict had not come to light sooner, this Commission's work and forthcoming recommendations are too important to be questioned in this way, and may be devalued by Ms. Gorelick's continued participation as a Commissioner. Given Ms. Gorelick's work as the Deputy Attorney General under Janet Reno, Ms. Gorelick can be quite valuable to the Commission's work preparing 'a full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.' However, that contribution should come as a witness before the Commission - not as a member."

Tenet did not see Bush in Aug. 2001

WASHINGTON, April 14 (UPI) -- CIA Director George Tenet told the Sept. 11 commission he did not see President Bush once in August 2001, the month before the massive terror attacks.

"In this time period I'm not talking to him, no," Tenet said in response to questions from Commissioner Tim Roemer.

Tenet said he did not pass along information he received about Zacarias Moussaoui, who was attending flight school in Minnesota to the president or his staff.

35. This is very good for Bush, believe it or not
They will just pin this on Tenet. Apparently this administration has not problems with alienating and outright declaring war on our intelligence agencies.

And, of course, the fucking stupid public will buy it.

"It is Tenet's fault for not meeting with Bush..."

They will pull this shit off the same way they are currently blaming the FBI.

Why do you think they kept Tenet around?

It was so they could blame him, and, even better, blame Clinton.
