Let's all see what tomorrow brings

I can not believe that this commission will let Ashcroft off as easily as they have seemed to. I am guessing here that this is the set-up before the kill, and that they indeed have information that will (at the least) discredit his testimony, and at best show him to be an out and out liar.

Ben Veniste, for one, could have destroyed him re: Pickard testimony, vetted FBI info, etc., but chose not to.

His (BV) comments on Hardball tonight will be interesting, as will the events of tomorrow. Isn't Tenet supposed to testify again tomorrow? Is that a public session?

2. Well you have to admit
This Administration is giving the media so many cluster fucks, they are having a hard time keeping up with them all!

3. It appears that the political talking heads are already going for blood
They are raising questions about his statements.

It's easy to imagine that they are all running around looking for the facts that will discredit him.

Ever meet anyone who says s/he actually likes Ashcroft? He's pretty universally disliked, and unlike with that good ole' boy Bush, the press corps and media pundits may not mind tearing Johnny apart.

6. MSNBC guests on Lester Holt and even Chris Matthews a bit
in suggesting that Ashcroft's insistence that he did not deny the FBI anti-terrorism budget increase might be disproven this week when the media starts to pick apart his testimony.

with exception to condi, there was some hard ball and then kerry alone, both rumsfield and powell had powderpuff questioning.

yet even with this, it seems like the commission is honing on things

bush is the one who said this is what he wanted to run on
