The president stayed out of sight at his ranch in Crawford, Tex., but events have played havoc with his schedule. Originally, Bush planned to remain out of view until he attends Easter services on Sunday, but aides acknowledged that was untenable at such a momentous time. Now they are planning an Easter Sunday speech at nearby Fort Hood, according to aides, and a possible appearance Friday.

2. Oh he doesn't have to "waste" his precious vacation
on saving Condi and his political lifeboat. If 40 or more dead solders from Monday doesn't make him give a damn, then we don't give a damn about some scripted speech.

3. Everything they have done before in crisis isn't working any more.
Avoid, ignore, lie, repeat.

There is a point that there are too many dead bodies and the lies too brazen for the tried and true strategy to work.

5. Events played havoc with his schedule?
just think how much havoc was started by this war-18 year old soldiers dying creates havoc in their families lives-and they don't have a ranch to grieve in-let them eat cake bush

George aWol Bush* will now be unable to devote his full attention to "recreating prudently"** as he did for a month before 9/11, giving him ample opportunity to ignore the August 6 PDB.

* appointed

** one of Poppy "Skull & Boner" Bush's many lame expressions.

8. I have noticed that the cable news shows have been covering for him too
Some have been doing reports while standing in front of the White House while issuing any recent Bush edicts while he is in Waco. They never mention that Bush is on vacation again neither.

9. As usual, AWOL is AWOL again
So on Good Friday, he'll make a brief appearance, and then three days later, rise from the dead, on Easter Sunday? He's so christlike?

10. 500 days
on www.talkingpointsmemo.com Josh Marshal points out that the Former Governor of Texas has spent all or part of 500 days on vacation on his fake "ranch", at Camp David or at Kennebunkport. Thats 40% of his "Presidency".

15. Bush cannot handle all this
He now has, as any president would, more responsibility than he's ever had in his life. Bush is very irresponsible by nature and he cannot cope with this pressure. So he runs back to Crawford as often as he can get away with it.

17. Let's make a bet...
I am willing to bet that if he makes a statement today, it will be something along the lines of: "...it is appropriate that today, Good Friday is the day that we see our American ideals being crucified by the terrorists in Iraq, after all the selfless acts that we have accomplished on the behalf of the Iraqi people. Just as Jesus was crucified for doing the same kinds of selfless deeds. However, we, like Christ, will rise again on Sunday, I predict, and will prevail, just like Jesus did..."
