1. The hearings were turned into...
a completely new direction...

Isn't Silver Bullet a trade name for Coors beer? Isn't Coors a Wingnut family who make the Scaifes look moderate?

She turned the hearings into a GD beer commercial for a friend!!!!!!!!!!

4. Vampires?
I'm not really well versed in such things, but isn't a silver bullet used to kill vampires? Or is that a wooden bullet?

What angers me is that the "silver bullet" phrase was getting played in every evening news report last night. If they showed nothing else that was said in the hearings (and most did not), all the news stations around here grabbed on to that phrase. Apparently, it's what they want everyone to remember above all else from all the hours of testimony.

What really bothers me, though, is that the American people had no inkling of any threat during the summer of 2001. Maybe a few airline officials knew that something was afoot, and maybe law enforcement had some clues, but the American people? Nothing!

Were they afraid we wouldn't travel, spend vacation money, keep the economy ticking along? Were they afraid there would be panic in the streets? That's the same sort of reasoning that was given for letting the Supreme Court decide the 2000 election... the country would not handle the "divisiveness" and it needed to be settled before there was fighting in the streets. Maybe it's why nothing is heard about the mad cow disease either. What else are they keeping from us, supposedly "for our own good," I wonder.

1,400 homes are scheduled to be sold at a sheriff's auction in Philadelphia. Unemployment means that these families can't make their mortgage payments and will lose their homes. The local TV station had a telephone call-in yesterday so people could get assistance to save their family home. Things are bad, and getting worse in the USA. A little demonstration in the streets here and there wouldn't be a bad idea at all, but "the Uniter" doesn't want us to know that. He wants each person to have to face it alone.

6. Silver bullet
Silver bullets are used to kill werewolves; wooden stakes are used to kill vampires.

8. Wooden Stake for vampires
Silver Bullets for Were wolves and the other skin-changers (with the exceptions of the Were-crows and the Were-Gators, who are vulnerable to God Bullets).

In sizing up the Bush Administration I'd go with the Wooden Stakes but water balloons filled with Holy Water might be of some use as well.

A volka martini and the name of Bob Seger's band in the 70's.

3. The silver bullet is a straw man.
The Bushies are just trying to frame the debate again. No one has said 9/11 could have been prevented by a "silver bullet." The question is whether the Bushies used any kind of bullet at all.
