17. I seriously doubt that
firstly, I'll bet somebody gets the Secy of State to push the vote back to November, when there was already an election scheduled.

If Davis gets it moved back to March, all bets are off...I wouldnt doubt that there'll be MANY debates of one sort or another.

20. November? Is that legal?
I think I remember reading that California election law requires an election anywhere from 60 to 80 days after the recall petition is certified.

35. No we can't.
Put the blame where it belongs - on stupid people who unfortunately have the right to vote; procreate - and own pets. They're the same morons who voted for * 1 and *2 - and think Reagan was a politician. They care more about the latest dirt on Scott Peterson, J Lo and Kobe Bryant, being too lazy/dull/apathetic (take your choice)- to make the effort to truly evaluate the character or intelligence and experience of the people they put in office. I think the current feeding frenzy in California is ample proof that my theory has merit.

Arnold has suported some causes that could only be considered liberal. That much, at least, gives me some hope.

If he is captured by the WH gang, then we have serious problems.

23. Only fools hold the son responsible for the father's sins
In case anyone cares to look back a bit in history, a 2-bit, b-flight, substandard actor happened to win the governor's seat in CA not so long ago.

Then he won the presidency.

Anything can happen here, but no matter what, to consider AS as guilty for things his father may or may not have done is the act of an idiot.

32. Yea sure he is....
He was only honored by one of the largest Jewish holocaust groups in existence. Only a Nazi would donate to a group that hunts Nazis.

"His proudest accomplishment, however, is his involvement with a number of youth-oriented philanthropic organizations around the world, including Special Olympics and the Inner-City Games Foundation. The Inner-City Games, of which he is the National Chairman, provides opportunities for young people through education, physical fitness, a wide variety of sporting events, the arts and computers teaching teamwork, disciplines, goals, hard work, winning and losing and to respect themselves and others.
The latest project of Schwarzenegger and the Inner-City Games Foundation is Arnold's All-Stars - an organization dedicated to providing quality after-school programs offering academic, recreational and cultural enrichment programs to middle schools in the state of California to help young people improve in school and in life. In addition to Arnold's efforts with ICG, Schwarzenegger has put his muscle where his mouth is, launching a state wide after-school initiative - The After School Education and Safety Act of 2002 - that will make state grants available to every public elementary and middle school in California that wants to create an after-school program for its kids. Through the Act, California's children in grades K through 9 will be provided with a safe, fun, and educational place to go after school. It will be on the ballot in California in November 2002.
Among the many acknowledgements Schwarzenegger has received for his community service over the years are the Simon Wiesenthal Center's National Leadership Award, for his support of the organization's Holocaust studies, the National Association of Theater Owners' 1997 ShoWest Humanitarian of the Year Award, the 1998 Moving Picture Ball's American Cinematheque Award, the International World Sports Awards Lifetime Achievement Award, the Taurus Honorary Award from the World Stunt Awards organization and the Father Flanagan Service to Youth Award from the Boys and Girls Town for his efforts with the Inner-City Games and Special Olympics. In 1993, ShoWest created a new award to present him in recognition of both his career and his philanthropic service: International Star of the Decade. In February 2001, the American Film Marketing Association, Worldwide Box Office Champ, awarded him the highest honor."

Edited on Wed Aug-06-03 10:58 PM by w4rma
to stay in office, the way it is currently set up.

So Arnold could win 15% and Davis could get a 49% against the recall and Arnold "beats" Davis.

Btw, whatever positions Arnold himself has, he will be a puppet for Bush. Bush will tell him what to do and he'll do as he's told.

30. Arnold will beat Davis
I heard Arnold and he comes across as very sincere.. "this is not about Republican or Democrat.. I'm an immigrant... America accepted me with open arms.. I will clean house.. I will help the children without books.."

He sounded very much like a LIBERAL. Arnold will win if Dems don't have a plan B.

Grey must step down for the good of the party and the recall will be moot... the LT Gov will take over and it will be the end of this charade. We CANNOT CANNOT LOSE CALIFORNIA.

The guy is not funny. He gets up there and tells bad jokes badly and doesn't even have the grace to admit he sucks (he could have taken lessons from Bob Hope.) I'd rather hear nails on a chalkboard than watch Leno. But to actually go there and get tickets and stand in line and sit through a show live - torture.

39. Freepers and other middle America losers
Conservatives suck at art.. ever wonder why artists are rarely conservatives. Conservative art is the stuff before we had the cultural revolution starting in the mid 50s with rock-n-roll -- it defied the system. Think back to the entertainment industry before the liberals took over: safe, pro-establishment lackees like Bob Hope, Sinatra, John Wayne, etc etc.. and all of the tacky TV like Leave it to Beaver, etc. Conservative "artists" are whores for the establishment, and whoring for the established power structure goes against the entire point of art. I submit that one cannot be a true artist and be a conservative at the same time.

43. If Arnold wins he will lose politically and so will the REPUGs
Arnold is not experienced politically (no.. married to a Kennedy does not count as experience) and will pick up the BIG FRICKING MESS we have here in CA. I am sorry but the "Terminator" is a movie and the character cannot kick ass in California. He is a bad actor and will be a bad political player. This is a major REPUG miscalculation. Let Ahnuld win. Big loss for REPUGs down the line, and the smart ones know it.
